Wren Loop Thoroughbreds: November 2014
http://wrenloop.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Delayed blog post here, this ride was Oct. 4. I was so hoping to get one more 50 mile ride in this year, unfortunately it was not to be. Work has been absolutely insane and I've been there 7 days a week. Not surprisingly I have not been getting in many long rides. The work schedule, coupled with a bit or rain, and the fact that our logging road loops are now off limits due to the new $150 permit required Aug through Jan. meant I just didn't get it done. We vetted in and had the...

Wren Loop Thoroughbreds: July 2015
http://wrenloop.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. Happy 3rd of July. Cartman, Buddy, and I took a two hour pre-4th of July ride today! It was already getting hot at 9:30am but there was a nice breeze down by the river and surprisingly there was nobody down there! We managed to get 9.22 miles in, but about 3 of them were in deep sand. so I'm counting those double :) Cartman got really sweaty and even had lather under his breastcollar. We also got some time in the water, as there were not throngs of people there yet. I should back up.

Wren Loop Thoroughbreds: March 2014
http://wrenloop.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. Karen/Cartman vs. Mother Nature. You can guess who won that fight! It has been completely crap weather here all week. Thursday afternoon I knew I had to get a ride in so we hauled over to the arena. It wasn't actively raining when we arrived so I was able to get him tacked up next to the trailer. Again we went with no breastcollar and I have to admit I like the convenience of not. I'd seen the chiropractor on Wed. and she was not too happy with me. Apparently my back ( whi...Anywa...

Wren Loop Thoroughbreds: June 2015
http://wrenloop.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. Four days after we got home from Prineville Cartman was due to have his shoes replaced. When Gary pulled off his right front and started to trim it he discovered a small bruise in the toe. It was actually oozing a little bit of fluid :(. As he trimmed he even found another tiny spot of bruising, also in the right front toe. If I observed any soreness, swelling, or other signs of foot trouble I would get the shoe off and start soaking. I believe that the bruising was caused by me ...

Also interesting to note, 50% completed, in accordance with overall Tevis completion average. Cool unsettled weather and Blue moon over RF, Sat am. And a fabulous RC eater, of course.

The Journey to 100 Miles. An official Renegade Hoof Boot dealer. This Week at RHE. July 30, 2015. July 30, 2015. My latest foray into other people’s ponies was Sparky, who came home in early May to get ridden/potentially sold. A big 10 year old coming off 17 acres with prior endurance experience, we trained about 80 trail miles together all told, and completed 3/3 rides in our few months together ( WW35/30. Meanwhile, on the rest of the ranch…. A quick reminder from Napoleon just what sort HE is. 2 bantam roosters having dinner ;).
