Dragons Backbone Longji Terraces in China. March 17, 2014. While in Guilin China we took a two hour bus ride to the famous Longji terraces. The Terraces were first built in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and were completed in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) by the Zhuang people and Yao people. As you hike up to the tops of the terraced fields you can see spring water coming out of the ground and into natural and man-made streams. I found this great little calendar of what to expect during what time of year.

Boudhanath Stupa in Nepal for Vesak 2013. On July 6, 2013. Boudhanath Stupa from Below. Entrance going into the Stupa and my favorite photograph of my trip. When we arrived, the streets were packed and I assumed it was rush hour or something? We asked our driver where to eat and he pointed to the direction of the Stupa. I don’t like eating at tourist locations, but then again this Nepal and it’s not really a tourist type of place? The Nepalese offer flowers, incense, food, drinks to Buddha.

Huangshan China 黄山 2012. On January 16, 2014. Huangshan literally means “Yellow Mountain”. It is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China and is known for beautiful sunrises which we actually woke up for and sunsets like in our video blog.
