We arrived in Cochin on March 17. This was a one ambulance stop. This person was taken off the ship with a medical problem but she was able to rejoin us in Dubai. Through Singapore to Malaysia and a few Tigers. March 17, 2015. Update: Today is March 15th and we are in Cochin, India. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all. We are well, the ship is still in modified Red for sick passengers but things are getting better. While it is a bit inconvenient it has no effect on our itinerary or our shore side travels. Dragons Backbone Longji Terraces in China. March 17, 2014. While in Guilin China we took a two hour bus ride to the famous Longji terraces. The Terraces were first built in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and were completed in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) by the Zhuang people and Yao people. As you hike up to the tops of the terraced fields you can see spring water coming out of the ground and into natural and man-made streams. I found this great little calendar of what to expect during what time of year.
