Bringing the Highlands Home: May 2009
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Friday, 29 May 2009. Who has short hair? I have short hair! So, these aren't the best pictures but it's rather difficult trying to take a picture of the back of your head by yourself. It took me a while to get shots that I liked enough to put up here. Whenever I took one, I didn't like how my hair looked- but I like it in person. Weird, I know. But, these will have to do for now. Now it's your turn to go for a crazy new haircut, Emily! Thursday, 28 May 2009. I don't think so.

Bringing the Highlands Home: August 2009
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Wednesday, 19 August 2009. Every Sunday night there is a quiz with four rounds of 10 questions. There are usually 15-20 teams and the winner of each round gets some chocolate, with the overall prize being a £30 bar tab. If its not too busy the bar staff try and get a team in there too, which is why I always loved working Sunday nights. Sunday night the plan is (for me anyways) to not go to sleep. Weird plan, right? Here is a quick summary of our trip:. I've been so busy with ...

Bringing the Highlands Home: December 2008
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Monday, 29 December 2008. Tim Hortons in Scotland! Imagine my excitement when I found a corner shop that sold Tim Hortons coffee and doughnuts? All in all, it was a little disappointing and not a very good representation of Tim Hortons, but having the cup in my room is a nice reminder of home. Always fresh, always Tim Hortons. Tuesday, 9 December 2008. Leaning Tower of Pisa here we come! And of course.the tower! Mmm looking forward to trying the pizza and gelato in Italy.

Bringing the Highlands Home: October 2009
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Tuesday, 13 October 2009. Check out that skirt! Just so you know, the Romans didn't bathe in water that colour. It turned green from the rain and air mixing with the minerals. or something like that. Bath is about 45 minutes from Stonehenge and even though it was getting dark and we knew it would be closed already, we decided to head there anyways. It was so cold that all we did was take a few pictures and get back in the car, but I'm glad I can say I've seen it. We also went...

Bringing the Highlands Home: Paris
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009/09/paris.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Tuesday, 29 September 2009. Sorry this took so long. I'm glad we went to Disneyland but I would never go back unless I had kids with me. And spent a few hours at various clothing stores. We also got some nice souvenirs at booths set up along the River Seine. Paris is gorgeous. I would have enjoyed it more if I could speak more than five words of French (it's very stressful not knowing the language) but it's definitely a city I want to spend more time in. What ifs to even ifs.

Bringing the Highlands Home: February 2009
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Thursday, 19 February 2009. What a pilot SHOULDN'T tell the passengers before take off. Why didn't he want to travel! Did he have a 'feeling'! Is the plane going to crash! Obviously we made it here safe and sound. We've started our job search and hope that we'll hear something within a few days. We had an amazing time at home visiting with everyone, but are excited to start working again so we can start traveling. Friday, 6 February 2009. A Blessing in Disguise. We are two Ca...

Bringing the Highlands Home: November 2008
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Friday, 21 November 2008. At the bottom of the blog I have added a list of words. These are Scottish words that I have heard being used here and what they mean in North America. I'll continue to add to the list when I come across more words. It is hard enough trying to understand the accent here without them throwing in words I've never even heard before! Hopefully the list will help anyone thinking about coming over here :). I got a phone call from a store called Peacocks on...

Bringing the Highlands Home: April 2009
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Saturday, 25 April 2009. To Cut or Not to Cut? I've been thinking a lot about getting my hair cut. I feel like doing something new and crazy.and drastic. Now unless I want to get hair extensions- which I don't- that means going short. Short crops are really popular in Scotland right now and I keep seeing all these cute cuts. I've tried to find pictures but none of them seem just perfect. Heres what I'm thinking of:. A little too messy for my taste, but I like the cut. Is it b...

Bringing the Highlands Home: London
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009/10/london.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Thursday, 1 October 2009. Our hotel was a five minute walk from Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace so we headed there first. We then headed to Piccadilly Circus which is the Times Square of London. This area was my favourite part of London. It was so busy and had a ton cool shops and theaters. They even had a Cinnabon, which after more than a year of not smelling that delicious, cinnamony smell, I had to get some. twice! 3 October 2009 at 18:57. View my complete profile.

Bringing the Highlands Home: January 2009
http://bringingthehighlandshome.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Bringing the Highlands Home. Tuesday, 27 January 2009. Happy 250th birthday Rabbie Burns! Before you cut into the haggis someone is supposed to read one of Burns' poems 'Address to a Haggis'. I took a video of our friend reading part of it but for some reason I can't upload it onto the blog. To make the night interesting we were all supposed to come up with 30 seconds worth of entertainment, whether it be a poem, song or perhaps.a rap about Canada? Happy Birthday Rabbie Burns! Sunday, 18 January 2009.
