True Stitches: August Linen

http://truestitches.blogspot.com/2015/07/august-linen.html

To join, to make or mend, to decorate. Monday, July 13, 2015. It's not August yet, but when I went into the bedroom the other evening, the sultry amber light reminded me of late summer. I took a series of photographs without moving anything - this is the jumble of my life. I was thinking of skin, and stone, form and time. And I miss my clean white linen and my fancy French cologne. So inviting on this very cold morning at 3am! Please forgive me for using word verification. The spam robots got to me.

True Stitches: January 2015

http://truestitches.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

To join, to make or mend, to decorate. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Six complete critters, three partials, and a whole lotta foliage to go. Dimensions about 54" wide and 36" high, stitched in Paternayan crewel wool for the critters and DMC #5 Perle Coton for the foliage. I started on November 18th, so that is approximately 150 hours of stitching to date. I take my work seriously. Links to this post. Friday, January 30, 2015. We were off for a few hours of hooking at Val Galvin's studio. I love the idea of...

True Stitches: February 2015

http://truestitches.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

To join, to make or mend, to decorate. Saturday, February 28, 2015. I last gave you a progress report on the Codex. Piece on January 31, so I guess I'm due. It may not seem to changed much from last time. But I have added two partial weasels, a wolf, a porcupine, and a "manitou" - the weird little critter with the curly tail in the lower right. Oh, and a whole lotta foliage. The design runs over the edges as if it were an endless field. I sincerely hope I will be done before the end of March! I collected...

True Stitches: I'm Still Stitching, Really I Am!

http://truestitches.blogspot.com/2015/08/im-still-stitching-really-i-am.html

To join, to make or mend, to decorate. Wednesday, August 05, 2015. I'm Still Stitching, Really I Am! Slow progress is being made on the new Codex Canadensis. Piece The beaver was tricky to stitch as the Louis Nicolas drawing was shaded with a dark watercolour, making it hard to see the lines. I still have more to do in this section, but I'm going to work on another area for a bit, then come back to it. Always glad to see posts about this project, Heather. x. Ooh, scary beaver! A plate of poutine made with potatoes from Idaho, cheese from Holland, and canned Heinz gravy from Pennsylvania, or a Chicken Chow Mein made with all ingredients sourced from your own (assuming you live in Canada) back yard? 8220;I trust you will find kind hearts and friends, and much prosperity, in the land...
