Tuesday, June 26, 2012. The variable squirrel,. Has long established itself in the Aljunied areas since early 1990; according to the book “Wild Animals of Singapore”. Urban Forest: March 2012

http://uforest.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Birding @ Bishan Park. This is my first trip to the newly revamped Bishan Park. It came along with a new name too (the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park), though I doubt common folks like me will stick with its old and established one. The main attraction is the deconcretisation (is there such a word? Of the canal that used to run through the park. It was converted to a natural low-lying river that meanders through rocks and long grasses. Here is a flock of the munias soaring into the air.

Photography & Me: May 2012

http://praying-mantis101.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

A personal blog about nature, photography and myself. Monday, May 28, 2012. I was hanging out with my neighbor at his place one rainy evening, when we hear several loud frog calls from a nearby stream. Upon taking a look, we spotted a pretty large frog in the shallow water. As I didn't have my camera with me, my neighbor lent me his Nikon L110 to grab these few shots. We sneaked closer to the frog, till he hopped onto the gravel. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Blogging about ecology, evolution, taxonomy and biodiversity from Singapore. Wednesday, May 01, 2013. Want to be a scientist? All you need is a bucket lid, a length of rope, and a smart phone app. Scientist Richard Kirby at Plymouth investigates how climate change affects phytoplankton in the oceans. Blogging about ecology, evolution, taxonomy and biodiversity from Singapore. Sunday, February 17, 2013. There's a great article. On the BBC website about amateur naturalists who discover new species in their spare time. One would think that the flora and fauna of Europe has been largely cataloged, but new species are still being discovered there, mostly by people who pursue natural history as a hobby. Much of this new biodiversity is small, especially insects and other invertebrates:. Like what you read?
