Notes From A Nomadic Knitter. Living In An Airstream, Making Stuff And Moving Around, Like A Nomad. Monday, 30 July 2012. The Cotswolds is incredibly popular and well known for its rolling countryside and quaint sandstone villages, but my new favourite spot in the area is the lavender fields at Cotswold Lavender. We had visited about a month ago when a visit by Pete's parents had put us into tourist mode. It was interesting then, but now is definitely the time to go. Labels: being a tourist.

Adventures with my Airstream (and other stuff). Living the simple life in an Airstream, touring with a dog, and general caravan-related ramblings. Thursday, 29 August 2013. Euro13 Airstream Gathering, and Taking a Dog Abroad. I'm using my time in the Outer Hebrides to slow down and catch up a bit. Before getting up to date, we need to go back a couple of months:. For a few days we camped in the gorgeous yet little known German town of Oldenburg, which is in the North of the country between Hamburg and th...

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter: Enchanting Encounters

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter. Living In An Airstream, Making Stuff And Moving Around, Like A Nomad. Wednesday, 11 February 2015. As a contrast to the previous post which was a bit, Tales From The Septic Tank, I will share some heart-meltingly enchanting moments I have experienced whilst waiting at the fresh water tap. All three of these stories occurred at the same spot, and all involve sweet little birds. (I don't have a photo to illustrate so I'm sharing a random wintry one). Our Extraordinary Road Trip.

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter: Campsite Feminist Ninja

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter. Living In An Airstream, Making Stuff And Moving Around, Like A Nomad. Tuesday, 10 February 2015. We are still in the midst of the off-season, which makes it sound like the equivalent of a mouldy cheese hidden in the back of the fridge. The reality, for us at least, is that we can enjoy some privacy and seclusion for a while, until the first hints of Spring encourage the other caravanners to emerge. I have had our 'landlord' show me the inside of the full and backed-up septic...

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter. Living In An Airstream, Making Stuff And Moving Around, Like A Nomad. Thursday, 20 September 2012. I love to wander around the field at Rockhill Rendezvous. And just take in the spectacle of a field of gathered Airstreams and their proud owners mingling and relaxing in the sunshine (and eating cake! Are not at all interested in forming a club with a committee and a bunch of boring old rules (phew! I suppose I also have to mention the Vintage and Imported versus New European ...

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter: November 2012

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter. Living In An Airstream, Making Stuff And Moving Around, Like A Nomad. Sunday, 11 November 2012. Wednesday, 7 November 2012. When we were staying near to Ludlow we took the short-ish drive to Leominster, unsure if we had been there before on our travels. Once there, we spent a happy hour or so disagreeing about it. Although in hindsight I'm wondering if Pete was possibly just winding me up. I know for sure that we had. Tuesday, 6 November 2012. And after the soggy seasons we ...

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter: February 2015

Notes From A Nomadic Knitter. Living In An Airstream, Making Stuff And Moving Around, Like A Nomad. Thursday, 26 February 2015. Baking in the Airstream is something that we both enjoy but it can be a bit messy. Which is one of the reasons why we don't do that much of it. There just isn't the space for flicking flour around. Well, to be accurate, there is. I followed Paul Hollywood's recipe here bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/soda bread. Living in an Airstream. Wednesday, 11 February 2015. I had a similar but les...

Adventures with my Airstream (and other stuff): March 2015

Adventures with my Airstream (and other stuff). Living the simple life in an Airstream, touring with a dog, and general caravan-related ramblings. Wednesday, 4 March 2015. Where has the time gone? On Sunday night I drove to Rye and enjoyed an evening with my dear friends M&T, and on the way home I nipped to Camber, where I used to live, and savoured a moonlit walk on the beach just over the dunes from the beautiful, designer Eco-house that used to be mine. So when did I move into my Airstream for good?

And then there were three (four including the dog!): A weekend away - not what we expected

And then there were three (four including the dog! Started as a record of camping exploits and newly acquired camping kit, then 'acquired' our little boy, Harry, so more homebased these days. Monday, 22 February 2010. A weekend away - not what we expected. Then I woke feeling a bit rough resulting in Simon buying me some 'tummy upset' pills. I was then fine but Simon then caught whatever it is, then Harry lost a whole feed all over my jeans and the floor. Nice. So J, A and the kids packed up ...That left...

And then there were three (four including the dog! Started as a record of camping exploits and newly acquired camping kit, then 'acquired' our little boy, Harry, so more homebased these days. Friday, 15 January 2010. Despite still having a poorly tum, Harry didn't wake for his last feed last night, and slept through his nappy change too. He woke at 4am for a feed, having gone from 7.30pm!
