Building Regs

New Building Regulation Requirements. These new regulations use SAP2005 as the only method to demonstrate compliance. Dwellings Approved Document L1A 2006. This will be based on a notional dwelling built to the 2002 standards with a target reduction of 20%. The actual Dwelling Carbon Dioxide Emission Rate (DER) must then be no worse than the TER. The new SAP 2005 incorporates all these calculations. There are limits on heat loss through the fabric of the dwelling, on excessive solar gain and heat gains/l...

SAP
http://www.uksaps.com/sap.html
The implementation of the new building regulation means that SAP is the only assessment available for new dwellings. The SAP rating is based on the energy costs associated with space heating, ventilation and lighting, less cost saving from energy generating technologies. It is adjusted for floor area so that it is essentially independent of dwelling size for a given built form. The calculation is based on the energy balance taking into account a range of factors that contribute to energy efficiency.

EPC
http://www.uksaps.com/epc.html
Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are being introduced to help improve the energy efficiency of buildings. If you are buying or selling a home you now need a certificate by law. From October 2008 EPCs will be required whenever a building is built, sold or rented out. The certificate provides 'A' to 'G' ratings for the building, with 'A' being the most energy efficient and 'G' being the least, with the average up to now being 'D'. Example of energy efficiency rating graph for homes. Cut your fuel bills.

UKSaps: building energy compliance
http://uksaps.co.uk/index.html
WE WILL SAVE YOU MONEY. As it is generally now known, sap calculations are unavoidable and with the most recent 2014 regulations proving more and more difficult to meet. Coming from a builders/developers back ground we see and understand how to meet these regulations from a commercial standpoint. As we have said, the regulations must be passed but it’s how we pass them that is important in cost saving. That’s where we try to differ from other energy consultants/sap assessors.

SBEM
http://uksaps.co.uk/sbem.html
SBEM calculations provide an analysis of a building's energy consumption. SBEM calculates the monthly energy usage and carbon dioxide emissions of a building from the buildings geometry, construction and use and HVAC and lighting equipment. SBEM calculations are required to satisfy compliance with Building Regulations Part L and should be produced for all new build, converted and extended commercial premises. To comply with building regulations. OUR RECENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:.
