Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Ronco Del Gelso vs. My Shitty Mood. My husband is waxing geektacular over the new Ronco Del Gelso releases. Had I not thrashed my tummy over the weekend, I might be able to enjoy an entire glass, but as it is, I'm actually. I'm at home, too! Too bad, too, because these wines are really pretty, and trying them now is like trying to rally for sex when you're just not into it. But I'll try. 2003 Ronco Del Gelso Tocai Fruilano. 2003 Ronco Del Gelso Pinot Grigio Sot Lis Rivis. Keeer...

Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Cork and Demon's Pick of the Summer 2005. There are four or five Argentine Torrontes at our store, all very pleasant, but only two that really stand out with their refreshing structure and finesse. One's out for the season, and the other is this one, which I hereby award the coveted Cork and Demon Pick of the Summer for 2005:. 2004 La Yunta Torrontes, Famatina Valley, Argentina. This wine retails for around ten bucks, and it's beautiful. What more could you want? Links to this post.

Monday, July 25, 2005. 2004 Caymus 'Belle Glos' Pinot Noir Blanc: Your Sweetness is my Weakness. I put this alluring Rose on the tasting table yesterday. It seemed to go over very well with women. Very. Well I couldn't put my finger on exactly why, though. I mean, most women are reluctant to spend twenty bucks on a pink wine. Yet they crowded around the tasting table, snatching up bottles left and right. What is it about these bottles? Is it the slick pink color? The elegant cursive on the label? If I we...

Monday, August 29, 2005. Brother Timothy, world reknowned cellar master for the Christian Brothers and pioneer of Napa Valley winemaking, had apparently a love for novelty paraphenalia. This impressive display of some of the near-2000 bottle opening tools from around the world (some dating back the the 18th century) is one of the most fascinating things about the Greystone campus and great for avoiding nerdy conversations before class. How fabulous are these guys? More on the campus soon. My next wine wa...
