Wandering in the Word: January 2016
http://wanderingintheword.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
Wandering in the Word. Exploring scripture. .intersections of life and scripture. Sunday, January 31, 2016. Yesterday I attended a Summit Meeting at my home church and, once again, was reminded that, for whatever reason, I am not able to fulfill my call in this place that is so much a part of who I am - this place, these people who loved me into being. It was here that I discovered my call; here that I became the me that God has called me to be. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
Wandering in the Word: June 2014
http://wanderingintheword.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wandering in the Word. Exploring scripture. .intersections of life and scripture. Thursday, June 26, 2014. The Holy Spirit, that elusive presence;. Who can pin it down? Like a fragile butterfly captured in mid flight. And pinned to a cardboard. Who would want to do that? Or a pin on a map, marking a place;. Here it is; that's the spot! No, it's not. Rather like the feathery tendrils of smoke from a candle. Weaving in and among us. Or sometimes like the billowing clouds of smoke from a raging campfire.

Wandering in the Word. Exploring scripture. .intersections of life and scripture. Sunday, May 8, 2016. Creator of the world and all that is in it,. You lovingly made us in your image and provided a home for us. And yet, we have neglected to care for all you have given us. Through greed we have laid waste to the landscape. Through pride we have laid waste to relationships. O LORD, Creator of the world and all that is in it,. Forgive us our pride, our greed, our neglect of your gifts,. Monday, May 2, 2016.

Wandering in the Word. Exploring scripture. .intersections of life and scripture. Saturday, January 4, 2014. A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the Lord. Shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. As the waters cover the sea. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Big Fish Or Is It a Whale? Does It Even Matter? 8203;Yards and yards of black plastic and clear packing tape. And a box fan. This is what it takes to make me happy. This what it takes to make a Big Fish – or is it a whale? Does it even matter? Since that first time, I have created several iterations of the Big Fish, each time tweaking the process and making adaptations. Most importantly, I envision the kids crawling inside to experience the story of Jonah in a new way. That.

Wandering in the Savage Garden
Wandering in the Savage Garden. Saturday, August 13, 2011. Rainy Days and Fish Tacos. I was hoping that I would beat the odds and not get sick, even though everyone else in the household is. Wandering in the Stacks. My alma mater was books, a good library…. I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity. – Malcolm X. A Century of Books. July 19, 2015. I am *finally* reading If Not, Winter: Fragments of Sappho, translated by Anne Carson. This is one of those books that I knew I’d love from the moment I heard about it. Fortunately, I haven’t been disappointed. Inspired by the title poem, and a recent trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I sat down and wrote a poem of my own:.

Growing into the woman and wife God created me to be. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Today is a bit of a sad day for Kenny and me. One of the sweetest women who adopted Kenny when he started working at Second Baptist so many years ago is now finally cancer free and in the presence of our savior. We have been following her husband's posts of her course of treatment and were able to see her and her husband last night before she passed. Monday, September 10, 2012. Officially a growed up. April 13, 2015. April 21, 2015. This past weekend Diana and I went to Venice for a weekend getaway. It was nice because the plane tickets were actually cheaper than plane tickets… BUT we realized it basically costs the same because it was 48 euros each way to the airport…. They gave us places to go to which really helped us because we had no idea what we were going to do over the weekend. All we knew was that we wanted to eat seafood and see the canals. It was soo delicious I still dream about it haha.
