Coast to Coast Revisited. This blog is a record of my 2008 attempt at, and preparations for, Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk. Saturday, 3 January 2009. There are many extended walks in the UK, some just as scenic and varied as the Coast to Coast Walk. None, however, have its sociability: the camaraderie between hikers, from diverse ages, backgrounds and nationalities, is beguiling and addictive. The mix is magical. My third crossing was just as enjoyable as the previous two. . The stages were about right.

A Walk in the Northern Dales – Introduction. In the summer of 2007 I walked a three day route in the Pennines. I’d hiked the Dales Way in April, and planned to visit the Cumbria Way in September.
