Gianna Simone: How Music Motivates Me
http://giannasimone.blogspot.com/2015/07/how-music.html
Author of "Histerotical" Romance, featuring A Kinky Twist on History! Thursday, July 30, 2015. How Music Motivates Me. Settle in and have your drink of choice at hand – this is going to be a long one. One of the biggest effects my love of music has had is to inspire me to strive to capture the emotion in a way that often has less than 200 words. I've always been amazed at songwriters who can convey a whole array of emotions in such a few words, or drive home an extreme feeling with only a line or two.

I got rid of the tv, but now I'm trapped in the Kindle. Though I must say this is a rather pleasant (if expensive) addiction. Something that's helping me write today:. Putting down the Kindle for a few minutes. Links to this post. How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time. Texas, United States. View my complete profile.

You've worked for months: writing script, designing sets, making costumes, positioning lights, and rehearsing, rehearsing, rehearsing. The big night arrives. You step out onto the stage trembling with fear and excitement. Will the crowd love it? The theater is empty. That is a metaphor for what happened to me this week. What did I do? I cried. And then I started writing again. Something that's helping me write today:. My sister ...

Second Thoughts: September 2008
http://martytidwell.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 25, 2008. I felt the same way about the movie "Once"- about a street musician and the woman he meets who collaborates with him in writing and recording songs. I cried through 3/4ths of the movie just because it portrayed the passion they had for the creative process. Making music moved them- not all the illusive stuff that might result from that- like fame and fortune. It knocked me down and left me skewered through and through. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. It was very productive.

Friday, July 01, 2011 - Posted by Regina Richards - 2 comments. I'm having tea with a girlfriend in a public place. A man we both know stops to talk. Though I've known him for years he is a nodding acquaintance only. Someone you know without really knowing, probably met at a long ago PTA meeting or soccer game. He stops pacing abruptly and looks first at my girlfriend and then at me, as if choosing. We sip our tea. We are sisters at some deep level, but with personalities as different as Kung Fu ...He pu...

All work and no play. Saturday, November 20, 2010 - Posted by Regina Richards - 9 comments. Last weekend I went on a retreat that really got my juices flowing again. It was the perfect combination of time to socialize with my fellow writers (amazingly intellegent, witty, and wise folks) and time to work in a visually soothing and blessedly uninterrupted environment. I came home Sunday evening from the retreat ready to work. And work I have! Do you ever find you've temporarily written yourself out?

A Zombie Romance - #1. Friday, January 29, 2010 - Posted by Regina Richards - 4 comments. This is just a bit of fun. It began in a forum on CritiqueCircle.com. He rounded the corner and came to a dead stop. His mouth dropped open and his tongue, if he'd still had one, would have hung out.
