http://kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2009/08/so-yes-new-stage-has-been-here-for.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. So, yes, the new stage has been here for almost a month! Except we seem to be having a tomato rot thing going on, and a caterpillar problem. Boo caterpillars. But I'm growing container potatoes, which is fantastic, and they are really starting to come up now! I'll describe the process in detail sometime, because it is amazing. But I feel it deserves some pictures, and it is raining outside right now, so I'm not going to go out and take them. Later, though. Susan in the Sahara.

There was an error in this gadget. Monday, June 29, 2009. Boni, Mopti Region, Life in Mali in 2009. Kelly's Africa Blog: July 2009
http://kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 10, 2009. So we are excited about them getting here, but it turns out that organizing and preparing for a training like this is a HUGE ordeal, and we have been working our little fingers and other things off since I got back from America. Hopefully we are ready for them. And if we aren't, hopefully they are forgiving. I did get to go back to my site for about a week during all this, and it was nice to be back. It actually wasn't great, because our well ran dry. A manye dat! The contents of t...

Friday, January 30, 2009. Sam, Susan and I in a rare moment off of training. Sunday, January 25, 2009. So this upcoming week of IST our homologues are coming. Right now, my homologue a ma na follo. Which means she is missing. I am curious if she will come, because it would be really helpful! Yesterday we got to see a snake guy! Saturday, January 24, 2009. I'm going to make this picture thing work yet. Slow going, but here's a sample! Bamagan (big) and Sawu (little) were two of my host sisters in Behon...

you've got mali: December 2008
http://youvegotmali.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
There was an error in this gadget. Monday, December 1, 2008. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I actually had a remarkably American Thanksgiving. 4 turkeys, stuffing, 12 pumpkin pies and canned cranberry sauce. Not to mention the wonderful company of a good chunk of the Peace Corps Mali volunteers. By David Foster Wallace, just shy of 1000 pages with extremely small print, and two books about the history of Mali, Sahara. Musa: You and the morning. Musa: Peace only. Was the night peaceful? Back on the road.

Kelly's Africa Blog: October 2008
http://kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. But so, its about 60 km from Kita, my banking town/rainy season market town (PC really didn’t come through with that one), to my village. And doing this ride has done nothing but increase my respect for century riders. Because 60 km is what, 35 miles? Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Well, they have those signs in small-town Mali, too. Except instead of Rotary International and the Lions Club (actually, Rotary is represented) it is which countries and international aid organi...

Kelly's Africa Blog: Scary, scary
http://kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2009/05/scary-scary.html
Friday, May 15, 2009. One of my last days in village before going "en vacance" to, Inshallah, Ameriki, Inshallah, I was caught in a little miniature cattle stampede. Little and miniature because it was just me and one cow. But still. Now I was taking a - shall we say "creative"? And their eyes say to me, "sometimes we're not sure how your country got to be so powerful," but all I can think is, "if one cow with crooked horns is that frightening, how scary must it be to be caught in an elephant stampede?

Kelly's Africa Blog: March 2009
http://kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2009. We did accidentally hit three cows on the way into town. Actually, we only hit one, then that one hit another, and the second hit the third. However the hitting happened, at the end there were three cows down, but only a teensy little dent in the bumper. So, alls well that ends well? I made one fine sauce! But so that led to the discussion about how if this is what American food is like, they were absolutely not going to go to America. "Are you sure there isn't to in America?

Saturday, August 8, 2009. Village of Waiting by George Parker/Packer (we didn't have this one and the last name is questionable). Nine Hills of Nambonhaha by Sarah Erdman (the last name is right on this one, but I couldn't read my own handwriting, so the name of the village might be wrong. Whoops.). Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Look, it's me and Heath. We so pretty. This isn't my picture, it is Caitlin's. So, yes, the new stage has been here for almost a month! Hippos (=Mali in Bambara). The contents of th...
