Beyond Our Patch - Australian Birds Environment Wildlife Travel & Conservation: June 2015
http://beyondourpatch.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Broad-shelled Turtle Rescue, Somerset Kilcoy. While driving to the Sunshine Coast for the weekend, we took the scenic route past Somerset Dam through to Kilcoy. While driving, we spotted a turtle on the middle of the other side of the road. I have a habit of moving turtles and all wildlife off the road in the direction they were travelling to avoid disaster so we pulled over. Unfortunately for this poor Broad-shelled Turtle (Chelodina expansa). I can't speak highly enough for th...

Jarowair - Our Patch: Young Carpet Python trapped in aviary after Finch Meal 11/01/13
http://jarowairourpatch.blogspot.com/2013/01/young-carpet-python-trapped-in-aviary.html
Saturday, January 12, 2013. Young Carpet Python trapped in aviary after Finch Meal 11/01/13. After releasing the carpet python from the cage, my father-in-law kindly let it go back into the grass close to a nearby pile of logs. Sadly we lost a few finches on the very first night having them in our care - but they are now secured in a large aviary with very small wire netting - hopefully safe from any other slithering visitors at night. http://beyondourpatch.blogspot.com/2013/09/sundown-national-park-spring-2013.html
Saturday, September 28, 2013. Sundown National Park - Spring 2013. After purchasing a camper trailer just before winter, we set off on our maiden voyage to Sundown National Park for two days to test it out and also with the hope of seeing a platypus in the wild and I had high hopes of viewing stunning wildflowers and orchids. What could you do but laugh! Fortunately our camper fitted in between the stump and the fence and it didn't cause any problems, although it was a little strange. During our two nigh...
