To Someone Likeminded: Non-Identification
http://tosomeonelikeminded.blogspot.com/2014/11/non-identification.html
Tuesday, November 18, 2014. In tonight's meditation class, Sister Ellie continued discussion of the Five Hindrances (hindrances in meditation and life), which are: sensual desire, ill will, sloth and torpor, restlessness and worry, and doubt. "Please talk about restlessness and worry. Please talk about restlessness and worry. Please talk about restlessness and worry," I thought while Sister Ellie gave us some background information. And, sure enough, she did. What is that bright space inside of me? Last ...

To Someone Likeminded: Unfurling
http://tosomeonelikeminded.blogspot.com/2014/10/unfurling.html
Sunday, October 26, 2014. A handful of things all together:. The chance to go camping. Seeing the land roll out around me. Watching the stars pop out against the black sky. Black sky in Oklahoma! Listening to Caroline Myss's The Power of Prayer. Trying to be brave. Understanding I have no control. Do I understand this? I don't know yet. Remember humility! Who do you think you are, Courtney? When I thought I was doing it on my own, I was so naive. Others were carrying me. And I feel more confident...Makin...

To Someone Likeminded: Some Brainstorming on Strength
http://tosomeonelikeminded.blogspot.com/2015/02/some-brainstorming-on-strength.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Some Brainstorming on Strength. I was just about to write that I have never considered myself a strong person, but I couldn't write it because it's not true. I think instead that I have wanted to be a strong person looking like I'm trying to be effortlessly strong. And there's a strength in trying something over and over without it working. That type of imbecility certainly takes persistence, and persistence builds a muscle. Or does the evil just find me? May 8, 2015 at 6:20 AM.

To Someone Likeminded: Caroline Myss Quote
http://tosomeonelikeminded.blogspot.com/2014/12/caroline-myss-quote.html
Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Always go with the choice that scares you the most because that's the one that is going to require the most from you.- Caroline Myss. This is a tricky one because the ego/mind is almost always getting in the way. The first time I heard this, I was in tears because I thought I was afraid of action X (leaving). It turns out I was afraid of action Y (staying), which was the opposite of action X. Oh, mind! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Scientists oft...

To Someone Likeminded: December 2014
http://tosomeonelikeminded.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. The other day I was in a fit. I was fed up and overwhelmed. And the worst part of it all was that I was treading familiar territory; being mad about the same things I've been mad about before was just adding to the flame of anger that was already within me. I tried a new practice and was annoyed with it when just days earlier I had been so happy and so pleased with myself! Then, I was on new path! Now, I was dried up, yesterday's news, no one going anywhere. I'm trying what I ...

Immersed in the True Guru's love: March 2012
http://guruslove.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Immersed in the True Guru's love. Friday, March 30, 2012. Orange, you ask? Personally, I don’t even understand the idea of “sacrifice”, but it is clear that being a sikh means standing up for the truth, even if you have to lay down your life and sacrifice all you’ve got for it…. I honestly can’t wrap my head around all this, but I know who to support and why. Posted by H. Kaur. Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Happy tuesday morning y'all! Posted by H. Kaur. Only love ca...

Developing Spiritual Community: July 2011
http://dev-spiritual-community.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 July 2011. What attaches people to their community. Surfing the Internet for something about soulful community I came across a site. About a project called Soul of the Community. What makes a community a desirable place to live? What draws people to stake their future in it? Are communities with more attached residents better off? Whilst our meeting houses, chapels and churches are not neighbourhoods it is worth thinking about these three characteristics. Friday, 29 July 2011. We have to be ...
