American-Traveler: Closing Day

http://american-traveler.blogspot.com/2012/10/closing-day.html

Follow this blog by Email. Monday, October 8, 2012. Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians! I hope you all had a good turkey dinner. Here, on Campobello it was also the last day of the tourist season as the Roosevelt Campobello Intern’l Park has closed its doors for the winter. That also means that there will be no more tourist driving for us. Instead we can focus on planning our last month before heading out to join up with friends in the great American South-West. Thanks for staying close! Good lu...

American-Traveler: January 2015

http://american-traveler.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Follow this blog by Email. Friday, January 30, 2015. Spring Break Is Over. Next morning was gloomy with a grey high cloud cover. Temperatures dropped further and in the afternoon it started snowing….and blowing. It took only two hours and the first trucks were in the ditch. One was actually pulling a trailer with a boat (! Which had a big outboard motor hanging from the stern. All ended up ….in the ditch. Who in his right mind pulls boats through frozen-up Alberta? I have no words. Instead of staying home.

Follow this blog by Email. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. The Unbelievable Thing Happened. Yesterday was election day in Alberta and it was the most exciting day since Pres. Obama was elected for office. For 44 years Alberta has been governed by the Progressive Conservative Party (PC). Yesterday was their last day. Resigning from the public:. Alberta’s Premier elect:. An increase of royalties to the oil industry may also be entering the debate. Symbolic to the defeat of the PC-Party the weather has turned to cr...

American-Traveler: The Roadrunner

http://american-traveler.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-roadrunner.html

Follow this blog by Email. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Ost of us who travel the deserts have seen the Roadrunner. And if you never have been in the desert you sure have seen Walt Disney’s Roadrunner figure zapping along the ground, accompanied by the typical sound of a car horn. The enormous speed these birds show when running is legendary. And it is a great deal of fun watching them. I found a good description of the bird at Desert USA. Geography – Range. The Roadrunner is also called the Chaparral Cock.

American-Traveler: March 2015

http://american-traveler.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Follow this blog by Email. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Sunshine On My Pie. But all the nice summer weather will be very short-lived. And you won’t believe what the weather guru is telling us: It’s gonna be cooling down a lot overnight and……we will be getting somewhere between 1 and 4 inches of SNOW. That happens after all snow of the previous bout of winter has disappeared and roads have dried up. If I have to push snow tomorrow I will not be a Happy Camper. Watch for tomorrow’s update! How to Love Where You Are and Eat Where the Locals Eat! Bob and Jos Full-Time RVng Travel Adventures. Friday, May 8, 2015. Currently in Goodyear AZ (Low 56 Breezy Slight Chance of Rain High 72). We are enjoying the cooler temperatures, high of only 72 today, at least for awhile. We have been sitting outside in the shade reading books from the library for the last few days. Who knew that there was a museum dedicated to all kinds of musical instruments? Who knew that it was located in Phoenix? But the most...

Life In A Volkswagen Bus: Much Catching Up to Do

http://lifeinavolkswagenbus.blogspot.com/2014/07/much-catching-up-to-do.html

Life In A Volkswagen Bus. The Good Life in a Small Home on Wheels. Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Much Catching Up to Do. Am at a small state park campground, Coyote Creek, in Northern New Mexico. It is cooler here than down south. I am camping with a friend, Jennifer, who has her own van, a red Dodge Caravan. The Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas NM. Las Vegas NM is overshadowed by its Nevada cousin and namesake. But it is an interesting town with a bloody wild-west shoot-em-up heritage second to none. The town ...Met u...

Sidewalk: May 2015

http://gosidewalk.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Come, and follow me along! Monday, May 25, 2015. That is as I remember it from our earlier life in Alberta. Summer comes overnight. This posting will be short because I have only very limited internet for the time being. Remember: May 6 with 20 cm of new snow and freezing temperatures. It is hard to imagine now that we sat in our trailer with ice on the walls! Now we are into summer time. Wildfires are cropping up everywhere and two more weeks to go before we are heading home! Life In A Volkswagen Bus: Well Here I am in Minnesota

http://lifeinavolkswagenbus.blogspot.com/2014/06/well-izhere-i-am-in-minnesota.html

Life In A Volkswagen Bus. The Good Life in a Small Home on Wheels. Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Well Here I am in Minnesota. Ell here I am in Minnesota, the state with more than 10,000 lakes and at least 10 billion-trillion mosquitoes. The bus did well pulling two 12-hour stints to go 1700 miles. Why am I here? By playing Tampa Bay to a 3-3 draw, the Loons finished the spring season on the North American Soccer League with 20 points, one ahead of New York, and took the championship. We left the rolling desert...

John and Brendas Incredible Journey. Friday, June 27, 2014. June is usually a pretty wet month around these parts and this June is no exception. Over the last few weeks we have accumulated about 7-8 inches of rain and even as I write this it is coming down hard. But it has not been all rain, we had some great days and these folks came by to make sure Grandma and I didn't float away. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). May God give you gentle horses,. And an even trail to ride,. Pure waters, greener pastures,.

Life In A Volkswagen Bus. The Good Life in a Small Home on Wheels. Saturday, June 8, 2013. The Garden In June. Ow that it's June, the garden plot that in April that was a desolate patch brown dirt and red clay is now a teeming sea of green! Potato plants three feet tall, tomato plants taller still, and laden with fruit, thrive. There are beans and peppers. Squash and asparagus. It is all very rewarding. But the reward comes only partially comes from the success of growing things. Tomatoes on the vine.

http://lifeinavolkswagenbus.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Life In A Volkswagen Bus. The Good Life in a Small Home on Wheels. Tuesday, November 27, 2012. New Leg of the Journey. No longer am living full-time in my bus. That does not mean the journey is over. I spent two weeks at Colorado Monument outside Grand Junction, coming down from the mountain only once for groceries and never tired of the experience – of waking up to a different dawn each day and being overwhelmed by the majesty I saw all around. Nor did I tire of the other campers who came there. And the...

Into The Transporter: Budget? What Budget?

https://intothetransporter.blogspot.com/2016/08/budget-what-budget.html

Monday, August 29, 2016. What does it cost to roam around the US with an inconspicuous travel trailer for a year? Gee, has it been 52 weeks? Should we really stop? You'll make your own choices of course, it could cost whatever you want it to. For us, I think we were relatively low budget. I'm sure some spend less. And I'll bet 95% of people spend more. That people without gills may. Later that fall, after Annie's offhand comment that something with wheels attached (not a boat on. Camper mirrors for truck.
