swearingmother: Britain's Got Talons

http://brummiemum.blogspot.com/2009/06/britains-got-talons.html

Friday, 5 June 2009. Who'd have thought that "the court of public opinion" would have produced so many hanging judges? Is this what happens when we, the public, dig our claws in? Has our anger really made this happen? It seems that everywhere you go - the hairdressers, supermarket, restaurant or pub, the talk is about one thing and one thing only - the expenses scandal. I don't think I've seen people so stirred up about anything as much as this, ever. And it shows no signs of abating any time soon. 5 Jun...

swearingmother: November 2008

http://brummiemum.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 19 November 2008. Some days it's hard to be a woman. Or a man. Or a goddam dog, come to think of it. I'm having a blue period at the moment, frankly an extended jag of feeling down in the dumps, a black mood tinged with a bit of grey laced with a few great gobbets of purple. I am fed up. Don't know why, that's just the way life is. Counting my blessings works, but only up to a point. So what've you got for me? Posted by Swearing Mother. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday, 21 June 2009. All in the garden should be lovely. What's to be done with me? I asked you all for help in finding a good holiday venue, somewhere not too touristy with nice restaurants, lovely coastline, friendly people, you gave me your suggestions and what did I do? I ignored them all and took a flyer, thinking I was being really brave. Mistake. Big mistake. This time I'll listen. Posted by Swearing Mother. Friday, 5 June 2009. http://selfemployedmum.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Friday, 7 November 2008. Been AWOL for a bit because I have been so busy with work and life in general, but I'm back and will be catching up with you all soon. One of the days I have dreaded all my life has finally happened, on Wed 15 th. October 2008 at 12.05pm my dear granny passed away with myself and my mum by her side. We had headed off for our October school break holiday, our only holiday this year, excited we were taking the kids to Butlins.

http://selfemployedmum.blogspot.com/2009/03/when-are-you-due.html

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Thursday, 12 March 2009. When are you due? We went on holiday to Fuertaventura. As there is nothing worse than a greyish. Bra on show, especially if you play these games in the hotel where the kids run back to the entertainer with items such as straws, shoes, socks, bras, I like my kids to win you understand! Of FF cups, I can't just nip to Asda. Prices, so I ordered myself a fuchsia. Pink bikini, a jade and pink halter neck bikini and a tankini. I hav...

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Wednesday, 11 February 2009. Only one more moan - I promise. I was going to fill you in about my loft .but.I have one more moaning, feeling sorry for myself post and then I promise to move on! White, which was nearly empty and a huge unopened bucket of B&Q value white, so I decided white it was, I started with the dulux. Coated walls, none the less I soldiered on and thought that would do an undercoat. I spent the weekend glossing and emulsioning.

She's like the wind: I'm on the top of the world.

http://selfemployedmum.blogspot.com/2009/03/im-on-top-of-world.html

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Friday, 13 March 2009. I'm on the top of the world. Today I feel normal'. It's a strange saying but that is how I feel, normal, quite uplifted and happy, well not so much happy but content, at peace with the world. I get very few days like this, I very often have an underlying sadness which I've spoken about before and when it lifts I feel good. I did 20 minutes on the Wii. Fit this morning, 10 mins. She's like the wind. Hey well done on keeping up wit...

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Friday, 18 December 2009. Self Employment V Employment. As I sit here in my cold industrial unit, did I say. I actually meant BALTIC! I wonder, is there more to life? I have decided that yes there is, there must be. I am hoping to put the business on a back burner and get a part time job where it is warm, you get paid and you have the company of other people. http://selfemployedmum.blogspot.com/2010/10/how-things-change.html

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Thursday, 21 October 2010. We went to Butlins. Last October and I decided it would be the decision making holiday - would I continue in business or would I give it up? No decision was made as I went into relaxation mode and tried to forget about real life. My problem wasn't so much would I give it up it was what would I do? What could I do? I had more or less made my mind up that I did not want to continue working alone and in those baltic. On the 29 th.

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Tuesday, 17 March 2009. I'm back on track after yesterday. This morning I managed 10 minutes freestyle stepping which means I can watch the TV and step to the beat on the Wii. Remote, managed to answer the phone which luckily was near me and still step. Go me! Then did a long distant jog which is probably about 5 mins. Only I won't have wee short knickers and a vest top on, I'll be the one with the fleecy pj's and bed socks skipping down the street.

She's like the wind. My journey of clearing my mind. Monday, 28 April 2008. The Wedding - Part 1. It seems like such a long time ago that the wedding of the oldest nephew and his English girl took place. It was an unforgettable. Wedding or should I say a wedding that we will never forget. The bus collected us from the Travelodge. At 120 pm, all dressed up and raring to go, hats, fascinators. We were lead through the. Onto the balcony, down the stairs and onto the stony. Our Brummie Family Tree

Our Brummie Family Tree. Saturday, 19 November 2016. Carrie’s rural memories have a certain Irish lilt. The great thing about people’s memories of the past is how they often open the doors to further research. This is what happened when I received an email from Carrie Browne-Carey whose memories of a rural childhood in the townland of Lurgan in County Offaly recalled a celebrated Irish ‘lilter’ named Robbie McMahon. Lilting is music made by the human voice which creates the rhythm and tone of musical ins...

I never would have had the chance to explore Peru without fundraising as funnily enough as a 16 year old I didn’t have access to 3,500 (the amount I raised in 18 months in order to go)! After all that I left an hour later to go home and do work! So I was 11 out of pocket, had less ingredients in the house and I didn’t even get to try one of my cookies! It’s been way too long!
