Life Under the Bigtop Too: July 2015
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Other than bemoaning our lack of outdoor living, we've been trying to keep busy this summer. We knew we wouldn't be traveling, as a surgery spot might open up, but we adventured near by as much as possible. Kevin Jones Performing Arts Camp. The production at the end of the week was Spamalot - hilarious! Trefoil - described as the best week, other than Christmas, of the year. Maggie is off this week to tubing and whitewater rafting camp! Spent a morning tubing on the James river.

Life Under the Bigtop Too: January 2015
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Eion's Birthday: The Final Chapter. Not having discovered any additional invitees, it was the birthday party day. E's plan went off without a hitch. We picked up the boys and started with present opening, because they felt they might need to use them during the party. And clearly, they were right. What party is complete without a Minecraft torch? Because I Know You Really Care, I've Left Turbotax After 19 Years. I had a number of Monday morning quarterbacks, ahem, Morrigan and...

Life Under the Bigtop Too: May 2015
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2015. From The Files Of "You've Got To Be Kidding Me," I Now Have A High Schooler. Yesterday was the 8th grade graduation ceremony, which one might be tempted to blow off, but as my 8th grade music teacher told us, "For some of you, this might be your last graduation.". We went, naturally. We made the whole family go, which I wasn't sure was the right play, until Maggie started listing off the credits she planned to have after her name in two years. Lit a fire that ceremony did. I can b...

Life Under the Bigtop Too: I Know What You Did This Summer, The Deck Edition
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-know-what-you-did-this-summer-deck.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I Know What You Did This Summer, The Deck Edition. Not even a freaking swim meet Monday update? Well let's catch up on all the excitement of Chez McK! The deck was old when we bought our house almost 12 years ago. In the time since, it most definitely has not improved. Witness the dank. And the dank is not the worst part, when you look at the unsafe and dangerous. We finally bit the bullet and started the project, stop one being the removal of said shitty deck. We added a walkway ...

Life Under the Bigtop Too: The Return of Swim Meet Monday, on a Tuesday
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-return-of-swim-meet-monday-on.html
Thursday, June 11, 2015. The Return of Swim Meet Monday, on a Tuesday. Monday this week was filled with thunder and rain, so the swim met was moved to Tuesday. This was our first meet at the new Club, where the mascot is the Hound Dogs, hence the (temporary) tattoo. They must buy them in bulk, as all the kids had them in a large variety of locations. I was determined to be a competent volunteer. It is one heck of a job and keeps you busy though, making the night fly by! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life Under the Big Top: Snow Days
http://lifeunderthebigtop.blogspot.com/2010/12/snow-days.html
Friday, December 17, 2010. Well we are on day two out of school due to snow. And while the snow did derail many plans yesterday, new ones took their place. After some sledding at our house and some driveway clearing, we packed up and headed to Ann and Hans'. We generally over-ran the place for more sledding,. Game playing, pretzel making and overall snow day relaxing. It was no swim meet but then again, it was no swim meet! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm a 39 year old stay at home Mom of three i...

Life Under the Bigtop Too: September 2014
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Last year when I signed Eion up for soccer, I contacted a friend who I knew coached a rec league team and asked if he would have E on his team. This was for several reasons, all selfish. I knew all the parents from this team and better yet, the coaches. I knew they would be nice as we moved our way along the learning curve. Don't worry Ned, they'll get along fine without me. The strategy I liked even better was employed in the last game. Comfortably up 9 - 0, the coach ha...

Life Under the Bigtop Too: Welcome to the A-Typical Summer or The New Normal
http://lifeunderthebigtoptoo.blogspot.com/2015/06/welcome-to-a-typical-summer-or-new.html
Monday, June 8, 2015. Welcome to the A-Typical Summer or The New Normal. Summers for many of the past years had a familiar, wonderful pattern. School would get out and, a few camps aside, we became fixtures at the pool. Alas, no more. Last week's marginal weather didn't help, but we are beset with complications and are having the weirdest of summers. I also started a new job at our local zoo.
