Cooking through Cleveland

Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Tomorrow, I'm heading out of town with my girlfriends for a long weekend trip (bachelorette party to be exact). So, with all of the packing I need to do, a quick and easy dinner was a must. But, even when I'm super-busy, I try to come up with something interesting and healthy to eat. So for tonight, I made a pizza that's modeled after one I ate once at Lolita:. Wild mushroom with arugula. Here's what you need:. 1 pre-made pizza crust. 1 package sliced wild mushrooms. Anyway, thi...

Cooking through Cleveland: Summery Steak

http://cookingthroughcleveland.blogspot.com/2011/07/summery-steak.html

Tuesday, July 5, 2011. So, tonight I felt like Mexican. But, not just the typical Mexican (taco night), or even something with a little more pizazz (I already have barbacoa burritos planned for another day). Tonight we had something simple, with just a hint of Mexican flavor. Strip steaks with chimichurri, spicy grilled potatoes and avocado. Here's what you need:. Potatoes (I used one large potato for the two of us). 1 punch of parsley. 1 punch of cilantro. 1 small red onion. View my complete profile.

Cooking through Cleveland: Deagan's Kitchen and Bar

http://cookingthroughcleveland.blogspot.com/2011/07/deagans-kitchen-and-bar.html

Monday, July 11, 2011. Deagan's Kitchen and Bar. Tonight was my second trip to Deagan's - first was only drinks, though. I forgot take pics until it was too late, sorry! Anyway, this place is really great. Nice casual vibe, a nice mix of metal and rustic decor, with a pretty eclectic menu. The beer list is long, and they have some interesting nightly specials. Tonight, all wine bottles were half off - a great deal for wine drinkers! Crisp eggplant - Two large slices of eggplant that were breaded, fried a...

Saturday, May 28, 2011. Happy Hour at Happy Dog. As a true hot-dog fan, I've been wanting to go to Happy Dog for a while, so when a group of friends planned a happy hour yesterday, I jumped at the chance. I'll definitely be back. Choose as many toppings as you want for only $5. Here's what we got:. Veggie dog with tomato, caramelized onions, house made ketchup and marinated portobello mushroom. Hot dog with chorizo chili, tillamook cheddar cheese, warm pineapple-ginger-currant chutney and potato chips.

Wicked Good Thrifty Cooking

Wicked Good Thrifty Cooking. Trying to feed our families mostly local, mostly organic healthy food on a budget. Sunday, June 13, 2010. Chicken, Chicken, Chicken! Cold Chicken with Potatoes and Anchovies. This worked out well because I used the rest of the tin of anchovies in the next recipe. About 2 cups of roughly chopped chicken. 1/2-1 tin of anchovies, chopped. 1 clove of garlic, minced. A handful of parsley, chopped. This one Jake wasn't so wild about but the girls loved. Chicken and Olive Fry-up.

I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth. It’s something I really can’t ignore so I came up with a solution, homemade fruit popsicles! I’m totally in love with these because they hit my sweet spot, are super refreshing on a hot day and are guilt free! For a girl who likes a challenge. Sunday, November 15, 2009. Crock Pot and Pressure Cooker.Unite! I must get better at consistent dinners for my family! With the continual lack of prep. time and lack of interest, I am turning to slow cooking and pressure cooking. Both of these books (see right sidebar) are made from blogs. They both look like they will help me out. These will be my go to books to cook through for the next while. Let's hope to better dinners in 2010! Sunday, September 13, 2009. Drop the m...

Cooking Through Crazy | A blog dedicated to culinatherapy (which I just made up)

A blog dedicated to culinatherapy (which I just made up). There are many reasons to love the holidays: time off from work/school, snowy weather, family gatherings, festive decorations, and food. I’m sure it’s no surprise that my favorite aspect of winter celebrations is the latter on this long list, but I’m prepared to be even more specific. I love, I mean am practically. With, holiday desserts. Is on the top of the list. I recently attended a book signing by Rose Levy Beranbaum. This recipe was a variat...
