Nearly a month… | Cooking Through Moosewood

https://cookingthroughmoosewood.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/nearly-a-month

Nearly a month…. So it’s been a while, but I promise I’m still at it. The while was filled with 4:30am sunrises on Cadillac Mountain, climbing the Beehive, walking the Wonderland, and then home, yard work, planting, bonfires… In the midst of all this, Ryan’s handy card reader broke and I was pictureless. Alas! I’m back with a USB cable in hand. Before I left, I wrote of making a few things and tofu salad was one of them. Pasta with broccoli was another, and there was enough for a few days of lunches.

A week of Moosewood | Cooking Through Moosewood

https://cookingthroughmoosewood.wordpress.com/2011/05/05/a-week-of-moosewood

A week of Moosewood. This past week has been crazy. Generally I haven’t felt like or had the time to cook. Obviously Sarge hasn’t wanted me to either. He’s been chilling out on my Moosewood Cookbook just rubbing it in my face. What have I been doing? A good falafel sandwich and fattoush salad from Frank’s Falafel House. On Saturday and a great veggie egg roll vermicelli bowl from #1 Pho. This past Monday. Actually, tonight I’m popping into Johnny Mangos. Doesn’t that look like a greasy mess? Monday I mad...

First flop: mushroom curry | Cooking Through Moosewood

https://cookingthroughmoosewood.wordpress.com/2011/05/12/first-flop-mushroom-curry

First flop: mushroom curry. This is kind of how things have been lately. Between grading papers and exams, writing papers and presenting, I haven’t felt like cooking much. But that’s all said and done. As of today it’s officially summer, and I celebrated last night by cooking some mushroom curry, and well… it sucked. Hence why I walked out of there last week with a massive handful of kale and some rainbow chard and ate it on bread. So good…. A week of Moosewood. Calzones and discouragement →.

Calzones & discouragement | Cooking Through Moosewood

https://cookingthroughmoosewood.wordpress.com/2011/05/17/calzones-discouragement

This weather is exhausting. Just when people finally decided to come out of the woodwork, they were forced back into their cocoons of hibernation by the cold and rain. I’ve felt sleepy everyday since it’s been all gloomy and gray and I’ve been craving… I don’t know what. Meatloaf? Looks pretty good, right? Pretty much the same. And I just had a feeling it wasn’t going to work, so I took pictures. I was right. First flop: mushroom curry. Gypsy Goodness →. May 17, 2011 at 4:15 pm. May 17, 2011 at 4:46 pm.

I have many exciting things to post: caramelized onion pasta, samosas… but I also have a lot of work to finish up. Don’t give up on me, I swear I’m just finishing my last week of graduate school! I’ll be back tomorrow or Friday with a long overdue post, pictures and just plain exciting new things. Cauliflower, cheese, potato, onion…. Oh yeah, it may seem like we have garlic bread and salad with everything, and that’s okay because I guess we do. We’re still eating off of the giant broccoli mushroom ...

katespace: my attention span used to be so good.

http://anybooks.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-attention-span-used-to-be-so-good.html

Of course we judge. it's our hobby.". Sunday, July 10, 2011. My attention span used to be so good. Am I the only person who ever feels like she used to be smarter and more on the ball? None of this multitasking! I do watch so much more television and movies than I did in high school or even college. And let's not forget I am a multitasker by profession. I say here and now, I will find a way to recompense for selfishness! Maybe an evening out with boozy fruit drinks? And speaking of low attention span: I ...

Of course we judge. it's our hobby.". Tuesday, July 12, 2011. A four day weekend has apparently ruined me. Because all i want to do is stay asleep forever! I am already definitely failing at the 30B430 list. yesterday and today have given me a cold, i think? I'm headachy and sleepy and sore throated. certainly i have not worked out at all today, and yesterday i only did my usual 20 mniutes of crunches and jumping rope. and i haven't done my daily meditation. Tune in tomorrow everybody!

The act or instance of naming. Tuesday, November 01, 2011. Oh hi, blog. Oh hi, blog. I didn’t know you were still up here, on the World Wide Web. I see not much has changed with you since I left. I believe it. Me? No, I’m not living in Ohio City anymore. Yeah, I moved on up to the Detroit Shoreway, City of Cleveland. Now I am a married man and a proud homeowner. katespace: revisiting the list already?

http://anybooks.blogspot.com/2011/07/revisiting-list-already.html

Of course we judge. it's our hobby.". Monday, July 18, 2011. Revisiting the list already? My friend SC said that she's killing her commitment to write every day by writing about one of her list objectives every day. that seems super obvious and easy. Instead! I am going to just modify some of my goals. Instead of writing every day, I will write at least every other day. I have figured out how to really rock at my cookbook challenge! I forgot to clarify: $25 into the savings account at least once a month.

The act or instance of naming. Thursday, November 10, 2011. Tornado, part 2. 8220;Should we get in the basement? 8221; Alex yelled. We ran through the darkness into the basement, smashing heads together when we got there. The freight train had passed. We stood there for a few seconds before I ran up to landing to check the driveway through our side door. Again the view was consumed by leaves and branches and rain. Our cars were mere feet away but we could not see them through the debris. I recalled signi...

A blog dedicated to culinatherapy (which I just made up). There are many reasons to love the holidays: time off from work/school, snowy weather, family gatherings, festive decorations, and food. The Recipe Hoarder

This is my journey through my many collected recipes. Tuesday, August 13, 2013. New Recipe #46: Bacon and Cheddar Dip. Well, it was a good thing that I did! We had a ball! Our team didn't win but I think that's partly my fault. I'll accept the blame and just live with the fact that my brother and I won a round of beer pong later in the night. :). At any rate, we ended up having a mostly gluten free menu because a friend of ours has an allergy. What a different way to think about things! 1 Cook the bacon ...
