A foodie in Qatar
Cooking with Gill: June 2013
http://cookingwithgill.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
A foodie in Qatar. I've posted a couple of recipes from my favourite chef, Peter Gordon - this is yet another of his. A delightfully light shortbread mixture topped with caramel and then topped with more of the shortbread mixture crumbled up. The only changes I make to his recipe is to use all of the tin of caramel (he uses two thirds of a tin) and to bake the shortbread base first, cool, spread on the caramel, crumble on the topping and bake again. 1 tin of condensed milk (397g). 150 grams caster sugar.

Cooking with Gill: September 2012

A foodie in Qatar. Banh Xeo - Crispy Rice Pancakes. One of my favourite Vietnamese snacks is Banh Xeo - a crispy Rice flour and coconut milk pancake, filled with chewy pork and prawns, fragrant fresh herbs like Thai basil, Vietnamese mint and coriander, and crunchy beansprouts. It's served with Nuoc Cham, the classic Vietnamese sauce, wonderfully sweet and sour with a pungent hint of fish sauce and a wallop of chillies. My version is a little different to the traditional way of preparing Banh Xeo. I ...
Cooking with Gill: Chicken and Prawn Jambalaya
http://cookingwithgill.blogspot.com/2014/01/chicken-and-prawn-jambalaya.html
A foodie in Qatar. Chicken and Prawn Jambalaya. One of the things I love about this dish is that the devil is in the preparation, you feel like you're chopping for Africa, but once the ingredients are ready (which can be prepared earlier in the day), the dish takes 10 minutes to start the cooking process and another twenty or so to cook (all on it's own - isn't it clever? And then you can sit down and enjoy it. 200 grams of chicken cut into strips. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 red onion, chopped finely.

Cooking With Georgia
Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Being Georgia’s Mom is Awesome. Often I hear people saying they can hardly wait for school to start so they can be rid of their kids. Sometimes it is said in a joking way, but more often than not it is accompanied by an exasperated tone. People also like to say things like “oh just wait until the terrible twos! Certainly there are the WTF? Moments, but they stem more from my lack of understanding of how Georgia feels at that particular moment or a certain developmental mileston...
Now We're Cooking With Ghee! | Amateur Adventures in the Kitchen
Now We're Cooking With Ghee! Amateur Adventures in the Kitchen. Aah for aaloo. With a side of chicken. May 1, 2013. So I thought I would make tandoori chicken with a side of Indian spiced potatoes. Have you ever had a meal where the side overshadows the main dish? Despite the fact that the tandoori chicken was as good as always, and. Always loves my tandoori chicken, he couldn’t get enough of the potatoes. And I have to agree, they were well cooked, well seasoned, and just so scrumptious. May 1, 2013.

A foodie in Qatar. What's not to love about these delicious pull apart pizza dough balls. They're fun, they're fluffy, and so family friendly. I'll quite often make them on the weekend for a mid afternoon family snack, or if friends are coming over, they're such a lovely way for people to snack before hitting the dinner table. They're stuffed.which means you can stuff them with anything. Go vege. With simple roast garlic tomato, ricotta and loads of basil, or beef. 1 cup warm water. Repeat with all the d...
