Cookin With Love

Culinary Adventures of a Full Time Working Mom. Sunday, December 11, 2016. I love Cajun food but using a roux to thicken gumbo just does not fit into my desired to eat healthier. Yes I know I just posted a recipe for Bacon Waffles, but in my defense I made them but did not eat them. I found a recipe on Food.com to brown all purpose flour in the oven and then use that in stead of a roux. Allow to cool. Sift the flour into an airtight container until ready to use. 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled. Beat ...

Cookin With Mama | Life in the Kitchen

Life in the Kitchen. April 7, 2011 / Shelley. Shrimp Pasta is today’s dish with tomatoes, spinach, garlic, onions and Buitoni’s fresh noodles. Delicious! This is my favorite way cook shrimp, but I love the Shrimp Po’Boys my daughter Shelley makes for me on Mother’s Day. This will feed 3-4 people. We divided it up into 3 which was more than enough. If you divide it into 4 you might want a bigger side salad. Clean a pound of shrimp. In a pot for your pasta, add about 1 tablespoon of sea salt. Have your oni...

Cookin' With Me

Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Our Favorite Stir Fry. The best thing about this recipe is you can use whatever vegetables you have on hand. I also love that there isn't a huge amount of sugar. If you like more sauce, then you'll need to double the ingredients starting with the broth and ending with cornstarch. My kids like a lot of sauce for the rice, so we usually double it. 2 Tablespoons oil. I always use coconut oil. 6 cloves of minced garlic. I always use the garlic from Costco in a jar. 1 cup chicken broth.
