Sand and salt bags. I’ve had some little pieces drying in the beach hut and they are now done. These are experiments. I don’t know yet if they will be developed into something else but they have several properties that are quite promising. The pieces have been filled with a mixture of sand and salt and soaked in the sea until wet through and then left. They have taken between three and four weeks to dry out fully. Food for thought …. Work in Progress (at last). I don’t know why, but after weeks of prevarication and confusion I woke up this morning and knew exactly what I needed to do! Today I’ve painted 2.5 metres of linen cloth and made 120 wire eyelets. All that remains is to put them together …. 8230; of course it may all go horribly wrong! This entry was posted in making. Walking always helps often ideas occur to me or connections are made as I walk myself into a meditative state. However, even though sometimes there is revelation, more often than not there is silence. A breath of fresh air has cleared my head and luckily this time I have found the impetus to go on. I am a textile artist. I haven’t been up in Wells for a month as my life recently has been taken up with exhibiting and teaching. It has been hectic but exciting. I had a flying visit yesterday for one night as I wanted to go the the AGM of the North Norfolk Exhibition Project. I showed work for this wonderful organisation at Cley Church in the summer and I’ll be putting in a proposal for CLEY17. I sat on a bench quietly to look and listen – there was no one else about. Textile Art and Embroidery. High Summer on the Common. July 23, 2014. Took a walk n the Common today without my faithful friend. Since he has become epileptic I find that he needs my full attention, so I reserve my walks with him merely for observation and a little light gathering. It is a very hot sultry day and I could hear the hum of the insects. They are now all sitting in jars of water. I am going to see what happens to the water before filling them with fabric. I suspect I need more of all. This on...

Textile Art and Embroidery. Festival Of Quilts 2015. August 11, 2015. Am now home from The Festival of Quilts. Alison and I had a lovely and very fruitful time. We met loads of lovely people and had a lot of laughs. Our stand – terrible light so not good pics. We have decided we can no longer fit a quart into a pint pot so have booked a bigger stand for next year. We also had work in the Quilters in Action exhibition. As did fellow room 6ers Sue Chapman and Lynne Onions. A brief rundown of the highlights.

Textile Art and Embroidery. Normal Service has been Resumed. April 14, 2015. Common. Textile art. I have taken a bit of a break part of which has been spent in Cambodia. I thoroughly recommend it as a destination, the people are lovely and very laid back in spite of a very tragic history. Inevitably went to Angkor Wat and took some probably very cliched pics. We also went to Pnomh Penh, Kampot and an island, Koh Rong Samoleon which was relaxing and totally off grid. This is how far I have got. Textiles&#...

Sunday, November 11, 2012. Believe it or not, no alcohol was consumed in the writing of this post. This weekend, I learned a lot about friendship. But most of all, friendship. I think I've had the easiest path of all of us. But I know I am lucky because we've shared the path together. Seriously. No wine for me tonight. You should see the number of bottles we emptied over the past two nights. Links to this post. Friday, July 27, 2012. Good Grief Jesus Jones. So I called him and let him know that I had the...

Friday, May 4, 2012. I’m back………. Hi, I'm sorry that I haven’t posted since March. My health took a turn for the worse with all of our rainy weather. I just couldn’t bring myself to write or do any projects because I was so stiff and in pain. Some days I couldn’t even move. lol. darn that Fibromyalgia. Now, anybody that knows me knows that I have to be pretty sick to not have any projects in the works. I received an IPAD for my birthday in March. I have had such a fun time with it! Ain’t she pretty?
