Etape du tour 2010 - My training log. Sunday, 28 February 2010. I've added a couple of new events to my 2010 calendar. They are post Etape but I want to add them here so I can include them in my training log. So September 12th is the London Duathlon. Yep, I flirted with the idea. The priority this year is the Etape but as that is in July, and I like to include a little bit of running in my training anyway, I figure that I will be able to prepare for these new events without too much impact on my cycling.

Etape du tour 2010 - My training log. Monday, 28 June 2010. Not entirely unexpected but he's announced that this will be his final Tour de France. For me this makes doing the Etape this year even more poignant and of course I will have the chance for a bit of hero worship as I will be staying on after the Etape to see a couple of stages. Etape du Tour 2010. Wednesday, 17 March 2010. After watching the Cyclefilm. DVD, I decided that conducting a reccie. Of the Pyrenees would be a sensible idea - plus it would probably be a lot of fun. I have an extra week of holiday to use up that my girlfriend doesn't have, so I booked flights to Toulouse and away I went. As luck would have it, I found a company called Pyractif. That as it turns out, is run by the same guy who drives the minibus in the Cyclefilm. The climb was a bruising.

I'm back from my trip abroad and have found the route and elimination times. Are up on the Etape website. We have 11.5 hours to get from Pau to the Tourmalet. I'm not wanting to tempt fate but this seems to give a minimum average speed of around 16km/h (9.8 mph). I wonder how many people will forget and get caught out? Posted by Stuart James.

L'Etape du Tour 2008 - Kelly's Heroes. Sunday, 30 March 2008. The Cheshire Cat 2008. The eagerly awaited start of British Summer Time marked the first major sportive of 2008 for Kelly's Heroes - the Kilotogo Cheshire Cat. It was time to see if those hard fought winter miles (for some of us anyway) had paid off. Phil eventually dropped back to join me (and probably regretted it! I reached the finish in a time of 3:37, with satisfyingly sore quads. Overall, it was another excellent event from Kilotogo.
