http://www.parentwin.com/2015/08/birthday-parties-in-modern-age.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Birthday parties in the modern age. My kids are turning seven next Monday, and to celebrate, I'm throwing them a party at a local bowling alley on Saturday. And so, I find myself here. Just a few days before this party. With three kids coming. This is how far we've wandered, people. Right now, though, we do have six kids coming, which is plenty for me. This coming school year, I will do my best to promote at least acquaintanceship with other parents. I will try to learn about ...

http://teachingaintforheroes.blogspot.com/2014/11/whatd-you-do-today.html
Teaching Ain't For Heroes. From the inside of a public school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. What'd You Do Today? We've all had that conversation with our kids. You excitedly pick your child up from the carpool line and the first question you ask is "What do you do at school today? The answer most often is "Nothing.". Why do they do that? What'd you do today? Is only going to produce an irritated "NOTHING! Sometimes this doesn't work and my son just tells me he liked recess...

The Creative Adventures of Kat: So busy lately
http://creativelykat.blogspot.com/2011/04/so-busy-lately.html
Monday, April 4, 2011. I recently obtained a this book. It was my grandmothers she only ever made one of the animals in it for an auction. My goal is to make several this spring to give to the numerous babies that are about to become part of our extended family. I plan to make them all baby/young child friendly by using embroidery floss to create eyes rather than buttons. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tales of an Unlikely Mother. Teaching Ain't For Heroes: The Problem with Energy Drinks

Teaching Ain't For Heroes. From the inside of a public school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Friday, July 8, 2011. The Problem with Energy Drinks. Remember that extra special caffeine pill episode of Saved by the Bell? Yes, one of them is really called "Cocaine". What does it do to kids? About what you'd expect. They are wired. In the long term, they need more caffeine to get to that wired reaction. It turns into needing the caffeine just to function rather than needing the caffeine as a pick me up...

The Creative Adventures of Kat: OH MY TUTU! A Giveaway.
http://creativelykat.blogspot.com/2011/01/oh-my-tutu-giveaway.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. There is nothing I love more than making tutus. For me it is how I relax after a stressful day. As evidence of this my daughter has more tutus than I can count. I’ve traded tutus for cloth diapers, made them as birthday gifts even. Next to my sewing machine sits several totes, the largest tote the one full of tulle. Anytime I go to the local craft, hobby or fabric stores I buy several yards of tulle. Shimmer tulle, matte tulle, in all colors of the rainbow. January 26, 2011 a...

Teaching Ain't For Heroes: What Should I Do This Summer?
http://teachingaintforheroes.blogspot.com/2015/06/what-should-i-do-in-summer.html
Teaching Ain't For Heroes. From the inside of a public school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Tuesday, June 2, 2015. What Should I Do This Summer? 1 Check out local kid programs! This may involve some travel for those living in more rural locations, but it will be well worth it. Check out what free or low cost programs are available in your city. For instance, in Louisville, my hometown, we have a cultural pass for everyone ages zero through sixteen. What does that mean? 2 Check out the library programs!
