Colour Mad | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/05/22/colour-mad
May 22, 2015. I am not sure whether it is summer, too much sunshine, too much greenery or something else that has gone to my head but I seem to be obsessed with multi coloured fabrics right now. Just look at this madness:. Cushion cover in progress:. This is going to be the most luxurious cushion cover ever. The yarn here is a rainbow pack from Easyknits. My “bland” knitting is feeling a little left out😉. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). The Knitting Godde...
Body Warmer | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/06/25/body-warmer
June 25, 2015. On Tuesday I went to my favourite yarn shop, Hoop Haberdashery in a town of Tenterden. I’ve just decided if my sister in law doesn’t want my niece to wear this vest I will just give it to someone who will. The pattern I am knitting is Highbury vest. The yarn I’ve picked is lovely extra fine merino DK from Patons. It is soft, non-itchy at all and machine washable. Perfect yarn for kids. I like the little mock cable detail on the vest. I am also still continuing knitting a Shetland shawl.

June 12, 2015. Finally has come the day of completion of my second Ikea chair cover. I can finally move on to other projects. Here is the result. This is the way it looks on the right side. And this is the wrong side. Here is how you do it. When you finish the last row of the main work don’t turn the work. Start working the border from left to right. It will seem awkward at first, but it is actually really simple. Grab the yarn with the hook (yarn over hook). And this is my idyllic craft spot today.
Seat cushions | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/05/27/seat-cushions
May 27, 2015. May 27, 2015. Much more comfortable than without the cushion and the cushion fits perfectly in the little dip in the seat. So I’ve decided to crochet a set of seat cushions specifically for the dining chairs. And the front close up:. All in all, I really like the combination of the classic Eames chair design and good old traditional crochet. By Pam Dawson where I spotted a nice Shetland shawl pattern and some yarn to knit that shawl with. Only after I left the shop I realised I bought proba...

New socks and much more. August 17, 2016. I have decided I need to have a well stocked sock drawer. So far I’ve got two pairs. And another three cast on. Plus a drawer full of sock yarn. Lesson learnt. I had to reknit the looser sock and now they are a perfectly matching pair (apart from the pattern). Yarn is WYS in wood pigeon. I have just finished the second pair, which I knitted top down, using Fish Lips Kiss Heel. And even though I have got plenty of yarn left to knit a few more pairs of similar look...
Flower Power | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/07/24/flower-power
July 24, 2015. It is the middle of the summer and all I seem to be doing these days is gardening! I am trying to keep on top of growing vegetables instead of letting them being eaten by slugs, propping up flowers, fertilising, weeding, thinning, etc. The job is just never done and among all these chores I just haven’t had much time or energy to knit or crochet anything proper, although I have squeezed a few little projects like this tray for my bathroom jars. I absolutely adore these colours! You are com...
Moss and Fern | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/08/12/moss-and-fern
August 12, 2015. August 12, 2015. As the summer progresses so is my work in the garden. I’ve barely had any time for knitting for the last month or so. I also feel less inspired simply because it is so hot outside! So now I have a bunch of grey and pink lovely yarn I need to think what to do with. Might still turn into a top. So I went to the website and picked myself some lovely yarn. How gorgeous are ferns! So now I am after a good pattern to use that yarn for. And second, I get to pick my own cut flow...

Drawing by numbers | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/05/30/drawing-by-numbers
May 30, 2015. May 30, 2015. But can you believe it, I still struggle to stay within the lines sometimes. Embarrassing. In contract to colouring, I’ve started on a cream shawl. So far so good, it is worked from one corner of a square by increasing up to the centre and then decreasing out with the border than knit on. And some simple coasters. I have nearly nearly used up all my cotton stash, just a little bit left, probably enough for a couple of dishcloths. 3 thoughts on “ Drawing by numbers. Enter your ...
Bag of Stripes | Knittingburg
https://knittingburg.com/2015/07/09/bag-of-stripes
July 9, 2015. July 9, 2015. Have you heard of this wonderful cotton yarn – Drops Love You 5. A 50g ball is only 0.80, it is made of recycled cotton and a selection of colours is lovely. So I bought what seemed like a huge bag for not a lot the other day and went on playing with the yarn. Here is one of the projects I’ve finished using this yarn. I had fun knitting this bag so thought I will write up the pattern for it. So here it is. Yarn – Drops Love You 5 or similar aran weight cotton yarn. The reason ...

What I'm up to when I'm not running after my three boys (four- if you count my husband). Friday, May 10, 2013. Update to Yahara Shawl Pattern. I've recently finished a fingering weight version of my Yahara Shawl. And have updated the pattern with the new sizes and yarn requirements (the original was in sport weight). I made my test version using Sundara FSM in Graphite (grey) and a limited edition blue/green/grey Music of the Night. This silk blend is a dream to work with and very soft to wear. This is t...

Jen wishes to knit ingeniously . Saturday, July 10, 2010. Well, after not posting for a looooong time, here I am. With a project to share. Not a knitting project, but rather a few stenciled onesies I made this weekend. Apologies for the craptastic photo, my digital camera is on the fritz so I had to use my phone.
