Julienne a peeled kohlrabi with thinly sliced red cabbage and one apple. 2 Tbsp mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp sour cream, splash of rice vinegar, salt/pepper, 1 diced jalapeno, handful of chopped cilantro and crushed peanuts. Cut in thin julienne strips (a mandoline is great for this chore). A dash of rice vinegar. Back to the farm.

Lasting Impressions on the Farm. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Honest, it's nettles! It's that time of year when we start picking and drying nettles, comfrey and other good herbs to dry for the winter. We like to feed our hens nettles and comfrey as a winter supplement. Both are packed with vitamins, minerals and protein. So, for awhile, the porch looks like we are drying dope, but no, no, no!
