Wednesday, March 7, 2012. South Island Adventure and Hayden's 1st flight! We flew into Dunedin, the 4th largest city, about the size of Providence, RI (maybe a bit smaller) and stayed there for 2 nights. We went on a tramp through a nature preserve to see rare Yellow eyed penguins and drove out the Otago peninsula to check out the albatross colony. Thankfully- our boy loves nature and being outside, so we are happy about that and took advantage of his interest. Hayden asleep in my arms when we arrived.

Monday, March 28, 2011. TV here in NZ is not much different than in the states. I find that I can watch some of my favorite TV shows (American idol, the middle, modern family, Jon Stewart, Steve Colbert, Whose line is it anyways, etc) with no problems, simply at different times. Yes, I admit that I am an avid fan of American Idol! Also, we get most of the channels as well on basic cable; discovery, E! I understand the Ministry of Health is trying to make breastfeeding more visible and accepted here in NZ...

Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Mother's Day and Baby squirrels. Got some great ceramic hand prints and singing mother's day cards at breakfast. Ran a fun morning Mother's day 5k with my friend.got lots of hugs when I got back! Later that day we found two baby red squirrels in our yard (Rowan stepped on one by accident!
