AM's Adventures in Cooking

Monday, April 25, 2011. A friend of ours in Texas made this cake and I loved it so much I had to get the recipe. I made it for Easter this year. First you mix together 16 oz of sour cream, 16 oz of coconut, and two cups of powdered sugar. Let this mixture sit in the fridge together for 24 hours. (This is where the patience part comes in). The next day make a white cake mix and bake in two round pans. (The recipe recommends Duncan Hines). Cover with the top of the cake. Printable recipe found here. We lik...

AM's Adventures in Cooking: September 2010

http://www.myadventuresincooking.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 4, 2010. This cake is so easy and turns out very moist. This is a great summer cake! All you need is:. One lemon cake mix. I used this mix. 2 Cups of powdered sugar and 1-12 oz can of frozen lemonade. Mix up the cake according to directions on the box. Bake in a bundt. In a separate bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and lemonade concentrate. Invert your cake on a plate- hopefully it will come out complete! Serve with berries, ice cream, or on its own. Enjoy! http://www.myadventuresincooking.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Some of the last things I cooked. This is more of a fall/winter recipe so you may just want to store it away. It is easy and very tasty! 4 chicken breasts (boiled and shredded with a fork). 2 lbs of velveeta cheese. 1 can of black beans. 1 can of pinto beans. 2 cans of ro-tel. 2 cans of corn. 1 can of chicken broth. Combine all of the ingredients into a large pot over medium-high heat. Stir frequently. Heat through until the cheese is melted and the soup is warm throughout.

So, we have all this packing to finish since we are moving Thursday (that's day after tomorrow if you're counting). Instead of packing here's what I've been doing today:. Diary of an Old Maid. Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Our little man is 13 months old today! We don't have the sticky bellies for anything past the first year (well, they might make them but we don't have them) so no "official" pictures today. But this picture pretty much sums up what's happening around here these days. Milo is into EVERYTHING. Today he figured out he could reach the door handle. Fantastic. At least he can't reach the deadbolt. Yet. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm a thirty-something ...

Diary of an Old Maid. Thursday, August 11, 2011. A few of the things I've been thankful for this week:. I stepped on the porch this morning and at 76 degrees, I thought I was going to freeze. It was FANTASTIC. My mother-in-law being available to baby-sit for a couple of days so I could go to work. My job being flexible enough that I don't have to find a full-time sitter/daycare. Life as a big girl: Max Rowdy

http://katiek78.blogspot.com/2008/09/max-rowdy.html

Life as a big girl. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. This is the first like 24 hours he was "home".  What a sweet puppy he was, so calm and docile.then the "real" Max came out. One of the many  good things about Max is that he is REALLY good with kids and just loves them! I did not do anything".  It's really funny! This is cousin Reno (and Aunt Terra).  Reno gets so excited as Terra turns into our neighborhood; these boys are just the best of friends! So this picture makes Jeff and I laugh as this day we wer...

My Adventures In Brewing. Exhaustive descriptions of my homebrewing experiences and all my personal thoughts on brewing. Thursday, August 27, 2009. The pilsner, being a lager and fermenting at colder temperatures in my fridge, is just chugging along at its usual pace, totally normal and happy. ¡Estoy en Buenos Aires!

161;Estoy en Buenos Aires! I'm in Argentina for the semester! Friday, November 28, 2008. Anyone that claims that the world is overpopulated has never been to Patagonia. The region that occupies the Southern half of Argentina is bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the west by the Andes mountains, but in between is a vast expanse of nothingness. Our journey, though, took advantage of the southwestern part of Patagonia. The whole two days of hiking were just an incredible experience. On t...

My Adventures in Cyberspace. Friday, July 24, 2015. My presentation at USGS. I would also like to find a way to standardize the data that I have been working with. Certain regions have greater numbers of sample sites, so when I put this on a graph it may look like an area was affected more than others when in fact it only appears that way because more data was taken from there. Which also creates cool visualizations. I'm excited to continue exploring different USGS data as well as different software.
