Retired traveler indulging in choices and travel – inexpensively. March 13, 2014. Nepal – Totally amazing even without the trekking. If you’ve seen my Facebook postings, you know I’ve become totally sick of travel. Have now been on the road nearly 6 months, and so ready to go home. However, I’m locked into my Frequent Flier Miles return ticket, and that has me being in Nepal for 30 days. What could I do for 30 days? My body with its finicky knees and back can only do so much “soft” trekking. The bus was ...

Retired traveler indulging in choices and travel – inexpensively. March 27, 2014. I LOVED my trek. That’s the bottom line – from someone who does NOT like to hike. Journal of Food, Books, Travel and Stories. My baking’s got its groove back! August 5, 2015. August 5, 2015. Yellow butter layer cake with chocolate frosting; Recipe from The Kitchn. I don’t remember the first thing I tried to bake. I do, however, remember trying to bake one thing ten times over. It was two years ago around Christmas and I had decided, having just unwrapped a silicone cupcake tray and an OTG, that I should bake gingerbread cupcakes. So I decided, you know what? The cupcakes rose like in ...

A few of my favourite things. Good intentions and all that. Does hazelnut cake make up for inaction? On February 4, 2012 · Leave a Comment. Time passes so quickly, it boggles my mind. It has been more than a year since we moved to London. It has been long enough for me to realise that this new job is also as boring/mundane as all other jobs. At least the people in my team are nice. 1 Insert apology for not posting enough. 2 Mention how I reached this recipe. First thing, if you don’t like hazelnuts...

My Weekend Food Experiments. Food, Design and Random musings. Creamy Moth Bean curry. August 22, 2013. I was on a month-long vacation, Kenya and then Kerala. I cannot even begin to describe what an amazing time I had in Kenya. I am completely awed by the land of the lions. Usually I always end up with after vacation blues for up to a week after i get back but this time I am ready to get back to work and the usual routine. Feel quite rested and relaxed. Moth Beans- 1 cup; cooked. Tomato paste- 3 tsp.
