Ordinary Abundance

Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Loving Life at One Year. On Monday January 6th, we sang "Happy Birthday" to our effervescent little guy. The year has flown by as we've adjusted from a family of three to a family of four and we've watched Caleb grow into a little toddler while Ben grew into his role as a big brother. His official one year appointment is on the 28th, but he was sick in December so this what we have:). Height: 29.5 inches. Teeth: 3 on his first birthday but three more are peeking through. While ...

Ordinary Abundance: September 2013

http://ordinaryabundance.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Before eight months turns into nine, it is time to blog! Attentive readers will notice some Andrew Edits (TM), enjoy! Weight—around 20 pounds; Height-? Clothing—rapidly growing out of 9 months and transitioning to 12 months; Teeth—2 on the bottom! The first one came in on September 1. The second one on September 6. Caleb can pull himself up on objects and demonstrated this ability on September 2. Andrew cheerfully reminded me that Ben slept through the night at 14 moths so ...

Friday, February 8, 2013. I thought time flew by when we had Ben but now with two little ones filling our lives it is ridiculous how quickly things pass. Caleb turned one month yesterday. In the last month we have learned our new normal. Ben is adjusting, the dogs are adjusting and we are squeezing in sleep whenever we can! Height: TBA on February 15th. Clothing size: 0-3 months with some 3-6 months. Newborn clothes never even touched his chubby body. Hair: dirty blond fuzz all over his head. His big bro...

Wednesday, March 6, 2013. It seems pretty incredible that we have a two year old and a two month old. March 6th crept up on me and it took me until lunchtime to remember that Caleb is already two months old! Height/Weight TBA on March 15th- at his 1 month appointment he was 12 lbs. 2 oz. so I expect his weight to be in the 13-14 lb. range. Clothing: 3-6 months with a couple 0-3 mixed in if he is wearing disposable diapers. What we are learning:. What we've been up to:. Posted by Andrew Brautigam. Ben had...

Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Giving Thanks: Day 22 and 23. Like my sister, I too have gotten a little tired of actually writing my thankfulness posts every day.I don't think I will become a professional blogger anytime soon! Yesterday, I was thankful that I only have three days of school this week :) Yay! I want to see one with God.". A different little boy said quietly, "Jesus did everything for us. He did everything for us.". And yes, Jesus did- and I am so very thankful for him. For I am convinced that...

Looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary of every day life. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Life With Lauren: 8 months. At church two weeks ago, we sang "I Need Thee Every Hour," and while introducing it, our worship leader noted that a stay at home mom wrote the hymn. His implication was that even. A stay-at-home mom needed Jesus every hour. Of course! 182 lbs (between 25 and 50%). 285 inches (between 75 and 90%). Sitting up by herself! Saturday, November 5, 2011. The World of Yeast". Of course, I couldn't do this without help. I called my sister to ask for advice on how to tell if water is hot enough to activate the yeast (between 130 and 140 degrees- what does that even mean? I didn't (and still don't) have a thermometer, so I needed a fail proof way of testing water without one. Hilary told me to just let the hot water run until it was uncomfortable to run it over my hand, and armed with this new knowledge, I forged ahead. Stir in re...

Just Joanna: Painting Pictures

http://joannabrautigam.blogspot.com/2011/04/painting-pictures.html

Monday, April 4, 2011. But the other day, I was listening to a song. I don’t want to leave here. I don’t want to stay. It feels like pinching to me either way. The places I long for the most. Are the places where I’ve been. They are calling after me like a long lost friend. It’s not about losing faith. It’s not about trust. It’s all about comfortable. When you move so much. The place I was wasn’t perfect. But I had found a way to live. It wasn’t milk or honey. But then neither is this. I know it by heart.
