The Official Launch of the new Pitlochry Tartan was a very special occasion marked by an exuberant Highland Fashion Fling on Sunday 24th October at The Fishers Hotel in Pitlochry. On 15th March 2010 the Pitlochry Tartan was registered with The Scottish Register of Tartans and on Friday afternoon 19th March it enjoyed its first public appearance amid a whirl of colour at a fashion gala event in the Bow Lounge of the Atholl Palace hotel in Pitlochry. Selling Donated Books in Aid of Charities. The bookshop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 4.30pm on Platform 1 at Pitlochry railway station. People donate all kinds of books and we sell them on at low prices. Most books sell at 1 each. All the money raised is donated to our six charities. Tea, coffee or hot chocolate is on sale at 1.50 per cup. The shop is run entirely by volunteers. No one is paid. ScotRail generously gives our premises free. Book donations are always needed.
