Sunday, 10 May 2015. A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER! THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES and RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY. A very pleasant Saturday, with broken cloud, some sunshine and temperatures. A little above the seasonal normal. Not a good start,(as I write this at 7.30), though we do appear to be within the heaviest band of rain at presen. There should be some easing of the rainfall intensity later. Selling Donated Books in Aid of Charities. The bookshop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 4.30pm on Platform 1 at Pitlochry railway station. People donate all kinds of books and we sell them on at low prices. Most books sell at 1 each. All the money raised is donated to our six charities. Tea, coffee or hot chocolate is on sale at 1.50 per cup. The shop is run entirely by volunteers. No one is paid. ScotRail generously gives our premises free. Book donations are always needed.
