Adventures of a Marathoner. How I Became a Runner. No doubt this post will be followed by a much more extensive one. Actually, it will probably be a mini novel as it has to stretch from my DNF at Mt. Si to this weekend. I finished the Pigtails Challenge 100 mile race in 20:58:00. Good enough for 3rd place. Adventures in Life and Running. Here's what I've ran since:. Let's cut to the chase, here's the lowdown on yesterday's race. Whoa! Don King got a hold of my keyboard for a second. So I am reigning it in at this point. I feel like I am holding myself back the rest of mile 1, running very easy and hit the 1st mile marker at 6:24. Nice. Right where I wanted to be. Just 2 to go and I have made up considerable ground on the shirtles...

Well, I'm TRYING to run...: It's all in the mind (the mental flexibility of the successful runner)

Well, I'm TRYING to run. A "journey" involving running in place in the deep end. Quite possibly I've gone off the deep end. Thursday, June 30, 2011. It's all in the mind (the mental flexibility of the successful runner). I spend a fair amount of time on the letsrun message forums, and one point that comes up repeatedly is the concept of "two types of runners." You can read the entire thread here. These runners are rarely at the very front of the pack, but they are completely happy with that - their prior...

Well, I'm TRYING to run...: Leveling up
http://wellimtryingtorun.blogspot.com/2011/06/leveling-up.html
Well, I'm TRYING to run. A "journey" involving running in place in the deep end. Quite possibly I've gone off the deep end. Thursday, June 9, 2011. About 4 years ago, when I first got seriously into running, I was heavily into World of Warcraft. Not in the obsessive don't-bathe-forget-to-eat-lose-job. Way, but it was something I enjoyed and played quite a lot. As you advance, it takes more and more XP. For the new runner, the similarities between running and World of Warcraft are striking. You run a ...

http://mathl3t3.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Adventures of a Marathoner. How I Became a Runner. Wow, can't believe its been a month since I last posted. Life has been very busy. On top of training and working two jobs, my wife and I are getting ready to move! As you can imagine, this leaves little time for blogging. Sidetrack: for those keeping score, my mile PR is 4:58. Me thinks I'm going to spike-up and run a mile TT this week. I'm betting I can hit sub-4:50. That's all for now, folks! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Adventures of a Marathoner. How I Became a Runner. As many times as I step away from this blog, I seem to keep coming back. There is always an adventure to write about. Below is a recap/repost (from FB) of the Seattle Quadzilla. November 15, 2014:. Marathon #19 done. Grand Ridge Trail Marathon! November 30, 2014:. About two we...

PRKent: Tips from Someone on the Inside. So Long, Farewell. I would like to take this post to say goodbye, for now. The blogging part of my class project is over, and I only have a few other things to do before I turn it in for the final grade. A blog is a lot of work, but it’s worth it. I want to thank those of you who read my blog, especially those who left comments. I hope I have been able to help you in some way, and that you’ll look for me in the blogosphere in the future! Putting it all Together.

My PRK Experience
One girl, one laser, and the search for PERFECT VISION. Sunday, May 29, 2011. May 29, 1010. I'm using this blog to track my experience getting and recovering from PRK. I've done a lot of research on this procedure, but being the more common option, there's a lot more information on LASIK than PRK and I couldn't find good, recent coverage. Especially in terms of first-person accounts. Of PRK. So, I'm going to provide my own to record my own experience and for anyone else who might find this useful! It was...
