Running While Cooking

Pass the fork, please. Thursday, September 29, 2011. This is my next little kitchen project. I haven't yet decided what silverware I'm getting to get and where I'll find it, but I'm in love with this simple and quirky wall piece. Definitely expect to see this design hanging on my kitchen wall in blue and yellow. And expect to see a post about a fun and saucey event I attended last weekend. Making your Kitchen work for you. Saturday, September 17, 2011. I'm sure this kitchen would be more than enough spac...

Running While Cooking: April 2011

http://runningwhilecooking.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

The Plight of an Injured Patella. Wednesday, April 27, 2011. I suppose if I put "running" in the title of my blog, I should actually talk about running once in awhile. After ending last year on a high of running 12 races. I was ready to shatter some more goals for this year. In January, I started training for my second half marathon (same one as my first. Are you trying to kill me? Being the cheap person I am, I went to Fleet Feet to get my money back for the brace, and a really knowledgeable worker list...

Running While Cooking: Oven roasted potatoes

http://runningwhilecooking.blogspot.com/2011/09/oven-roasted-potatoes.html

Thursday, September 8, 2011. It's still summer weather in California. Fellow food bloggers began talking about fall weather and fall food a couple weeks ago, but I just can't get on bored with pumpkin spice lattes, butternut squash soup, and months of no garden fresh tomatoes. I may cry come October. They don't look like much, but they stole the show. You can use whatever potatoes you like, but I bought a mixed bag (red, yellow and purple! 2 lbs baby potatoes. 2-3 T good olive oil. Cut up potatoes into c...

Running While Cooking: March 2011

http://runningwhilecooking.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Megan Monday: Holy Guacamole. Monday, March 28, 2011. Per Megan's request, I'm making guacamole: her comfort food. I will admit that there is little better than sitting down with a bag of chips and a bowl of salsa and/or guacamole, but it's so easy to get carried away. In general, there are about 12 chips in a serving. 12. Are you kidding me? I can go through 12 in about 2 minutes. Especially when I'm surrounded by some girl friends and a batch of margaritas (on the rocks, of course.). When buying chips,...

Running While Cooking: January 2011

Megan Monday: Granola Girls. Monday, January 31, 2011. Instead of having one more reason to lose my mind, I make my own. The best thing about granola is it requires little planning on your part. There are a few ingredients you should always have in a well stocked pantry; they happen to be a lot of what you need for granola. Preheat oven to 350. 3 cups old fashioned oats. 1/4 flaxseed and/or wheat germ. 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil. 1/2 cup honey, or maple syrup/brown sugar. 1 cup coconut, if desired.

The Young Vegan: March 2010

http://theyoungvegan.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 23, 2010. And so we say goodbye. You may wonder where I've been the past month. Hmmm.school, work, running, cooking, sleeping, not cleaning my room, and enjoying some play time here and there. I have also been on quite a health rollercoaster. I just created a new blog, so come join me here. I went vegan to challenge myself (which I did) and to be even healthier than I became in the past 3 years. I told myself if that goal ever failed that I should return to a non-vegan lifestyle. D...

Tuesday, April 20, 2010. It used to say until Monday. Monday, April 19, 2010. We only thought we were joking. As we walked towards the vatican we made jokes about the Pope being a Roma fan only to find an AS Roma banner in a vatican window. hmmm maybe we only thought we were joking. Labels: Campo Di Fiori.

running while chunky

A plus-sized, middle-aged, novice runner searches for her skinny, athletic self. Garmin for (lots of) galloway intervals. Tuesday, August 12, 2014. After carefully considering this for a while, I've decided to take a little blog break - at least for a couple of weeks until after Dumbo (Labor Day weekend). A couple of weeks off will either re-energize me or show me that maybe it's time for a change. I'm usually not a fan of change but, in this case, I think it's worth exploring. So look for me there.

I'm fat. I run. And lift. And yoga. And swim. And…. So put a second blanket on the bed, silly…. August 12, 2015. Well, I’m still sore (jeez) but I had a flash of logic this morning: if I’m sore from using weird muscles hiking and the muscles that I use to run aren’t the ones that are sore, I should be able to run! Post-hiking workouts and more planning. August 11, 2015. Sunday’s hike left me sore in places I’m very rarely sore! That said, I headed to the gym this morning to go lift and did so rather gent...

Running While Mommy

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Week Two of Marathon Training. Well, I completed week two of training and it has some good and one really bad run. My long run this week was twelve miles. I have the choice of doing my long runs on Sunday or Monday. Once the kids are back in school they will all be Monday but right now, most of them are Sunday. So, instead of taking a step back after running the Blessing on Friday. And doing my long run on Monday, I headed out early on Sunday. On Tuesday, I took a Total Sculpt cl...

Running While (fat and) Pathetic. Having abandoned my attempt at a marathon three years ago due to injury, I am now charging myself with getting back in the running shorts. Running while seated life as a wheelchair user sees it. Life as a wheelchair user sees it. April 11, 2010. By running while seated. In heaven you can walk. Many well-meaning spiritual/religious/christian people try to reassure me that in heaven I’ll not need a wheelchair. Does anyone besides me view that as offensive?
