Tumbleweeds In The Wind: Button Love!
http://tumbleweedsinthewind.blogspot.com/2015/03/button-love.html
Monday, March 2, 2015. I wish you could see the iridescence. And delicacy of these Mother of Pearl. These are so fun! Poofy red things that just. I was also surprised at how elegant buttons can look. I mean, I love buttons and think sewing should be incorporated into as many areas of our lives as possible, but I wasn’t expecting them to look so classy! My little velvet display frames! To also add to the. Excitement they are vintage buttons getting new life! What do you think about button jewelry? Thanks ...

I Did a Thing

Single, Fat, and Happy. Talking to Fear: A Teleclass on How To Do the Hard Things. I Did a Thing. September 26, 2014. Eleven weeks ago, I tried my first parkour class. Seven weeks ago, I decided to sign up for a weekend long parkour event happening in Boston. I also made a commitment to myself that I would go to three classes a week between then and the event. I would give my training my all and focus on doing my best. And yet I’m finally actively fighting these things. They ‘re not going to disappea...

Violet Is A Bad Girl - A Stitching Odyssey
http://www.astitchingodyssey.com/2015/01/violet-is-bad-girl.html
Violet Is A Bad Girl. On Tuesday, January 13, 2015. After my first Violet Dress. Was mistaken for a nightie, I decided that Violet 2.0 was going to be a bad girl! If you ignore the pathetic attempt to channel my inner biker chick (I just look moody), then I think I've succeeded thanks to my fabric choice. I got both the wine-coloured fleck jersey and the quilted glossy jersey from Minerva Crafts. I can't stress enough how much I love this pattern from Bluegingerdoll Patterns. And more importantly, have y...

Hitting the wall | Béa's Sewing Adventures
https://beassewingadventures.wordpress.com/2015/05/20/hitting-the-wall
Béa's Sewing Adventures. I’m doing absolutely fine with the wearing of my Me Mades. But I’ll be honest, I’m struggling with the selfies. Moreso than last year. If I can’t do the photo at work, or get the Gentleman Friend to take it (we don’t live together so he’s not readily on hand) it’s been hard to get it done. I know what I need to do to look after myself, but it’s not always easy to do those things. This entry was posted on 20 May, 2015 and tagged MMM15. A Massive MMMay15 Catch-Up. Thanks, I made it!

The Watermelon Belcarra and a quick OWOP update | Béa's Sewing Adventures
https://beassewingadventures.wordpress.com/2014/07/16/the-watermelon-belcarra-and-a-quick-owop-update
Béa's Sewing Adventures. The Watermelon Belcarra and a quick OWOP update. Yesterday, I sewed my first Sewaholics pattern. And I wore it to work today. And I’ll be taking it on holiday. It’s so cool and easy to wear. That’s partly to do with the pattern which is nice and loose on the body, not clingy, and partly to do with the fabric I used, which is a very loose-woven cotton, almost muslin-ish. It’s the Watermelon, just because of the colours. What can I say about the process? I haven’t done anythi...

Summer Sundress Sewalong Success! | Béa's Sewing Adventures
https://beassewingadventures.wordpress.com/2014/08/17/summer-sundress-sewalong-success
Béa's Sewing Adventures. Summer Sundress Sewalong Success! Awww, isn’t it sweet- baby’s first pattern hack! In my usual car-park place, yesterday. The Dress Of Many Colours. The photo is rather “enhanced” to combat overexposure. But yes it *is* that brightly coloured. The Summer Sundress Sewalong. I opted to hack the Belcarra blouse pattern. Rather more photogenically, at Waverley Abbey, today, at a picnic with my dance students. I also cut the neckline binding while the fabric was folded so I had two pi...

OWOP14 – Bring it on | Béa's Sewing Adventures
https://beassewingadventures.wordpress.com/2014/09/06/owop14-bring-it-on
Béa's Sewing Adventures. OWOP14 – Bring it on. I’m ready. Well, ready-ish. Here is what I had available, as at first thing this morning. Three and a half Belcarras. You’ll have seen the Watermelon blouse and the Dress Of Many Colours. The third is the one I’m wearing today- the Cadfael and Cats blouse. Number four, the black and white on top there, is mid-make, and I’m hoping to get it finished today. It’s actually much greener than this picture is showing! I’m so dedicated! I was slightly stymied this a...

The Me-Made-May Review post | Béa's Sewing Adventures
https://beassewingadventures.wordpress.com/2015/06/10/the-me-made-may-review-post
Béa's Sewing Adventures. The Me-Made-May Review post. MMM is supposed to be a challenge, and it was, in several ways:. Challenge #1 – A lot of my me-mades are samey. This is a result of my laziness- I use the same pattern over and over. If you asked non-sewers they probably wouldn’t have noticed, but when you’re trying to make different-looking outfits from a very small range of items, over 31 days, you realise how limited your wardrobe is! Having said all that, MMM was also a source of great pleasure:.
