Serving in the Sand

Serving in the Sand. Keeping in touch far from home. Saturday, January 3, 2009. Dont Just Wish For a Happy New Year. Last year was good to me, but there was an unnecessary overabundance of ill will. The political realities of a contested election that is some areas also incorporated religious distinctions made the incivility much worse. The economic realities that will be in this year will add to the stresses that are on all of us, some more oppressively than others. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Serving in the Sand. Keeping in touch far from home. Saturday, May 31, 2008. On Leave, But Not Resting. The next day I got to see some of my coworkers at work. By coincidence the department was having a BBQ, so I got lunch too. I am pretty out of touch with what is happening there now. By the time I get back it will be like an entirely new company. It was good to see everyone again though. Links to this post. Monday, May 26, 2008. A Little Sunday Serious. Borrowed from Cox and Forkum. Links to this post.

Serving in the Sand. Keeping in touch far from home. Sunday, March 30, 2008. I just got back from a week in the field, where we put our theory and doctrine into practice. USACAPOC cleared an small area of forest and built a forward operating base where CA and PSYOP students can live and work for a week or so at a time. I checked Google Earth and the imagery isn't new enough to show it, but I have some pictures. Interior of my tent (GP medium with HVAC). Links to this post. Thursday, March 20, 2008. Somet...

Weir Together Forever: Fit Bit Challenge

http://teamweir.blogspot.com/2014/08/fit-bit-challenge.html

Monday, August 25, 2014. See for your self. it's so crazy awesome that I won. I need to find another fitbit challenge to see what I can do with that one. I am currently training for a 5k in a few weeks. I'll post about how that goes soon. I did do a 2 mile run in Snowflake for Pioneer days. My first timed race. 25.34 minutes. I was aiming for less then 30 minutes. I did it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Again its been way to long. Not so funny but at least she's learning who Jesus is). We're off to...

http://teamweir.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 30, 2012. A little Randomness of the Summer. Charlotte and Kathryn are little characters most of the time. Charlotte likes to pick or rather just stick her fingers in her nose and Kathryn well likes to do anything that makes us laugh. I love the cross eyed look with the fingers in her nose. Oh and Kathryn using her middle fingers. These are priceless! I sent this picture to Matthew and he thought I looked Sexy! We Went bowling with all the grand kids but the three youngest. Though this be Madsen, yet there is method in't.". With apologies to Shakespeare, we would like to share some of our method and our madness. Enjoy. I'll let the blog speak for itself. This is the story of the three month odyssey my friends have gone through with the diagnosis, decline and ultimate death of their beautiful little one. Heather, who writes it, is an amazing woman. Her family is amazing. It is worth taking time to read through their story which is still ongoing. Jamie broke her arm. Yes, Vir...

http://though-this-be-madsen.blogspot.com/2012/04/decisions-decisions.html

Though this be Madsen, yet there is method in't.". With apologies to Shakespeare, we would like to share some of our method and our madness. Enjoy. Our van died. Cracked engine block. It is ten years old. We just spent $600 to find out that it will cost $2000, more or less, to fix it. So do we fix it, or replace it? Our budget is very tight and most of the vehicles in our price range are probably in about the same condition as our van. You know, on the edge of major repairs. So, what to do? Dont Just Wis...

http://seeitinprint.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Just to see it in print . . . Saturday, July 25, 2009. Yep So much for not going back to Okinawa. I found myself on that muggy, humid island once again this week. I am already on my way home, but thought I would post the few pics I have. This is the eternal red light. The green arrows below the red go off and on, but the red one stays lit no matter what, even if you have a straight green arrow. Hilarious. Well, I have to go get on a plane, so more later. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. ANYWAY. So I went to O...

The Other Side of the World

The Other Side of the World. Monday, May 18, 2015. One of the best weeks I have had! This week was one of the best weeks I've had since I started my mission! I really mean it! It felt like miracles were just falling out of heaven and into our laps! We saw some really great success and it made me so excited to be a missionary that I even thought several times about extending. If mom and dad weren't going to pick me up, I think I would! So here's what happened! I love teaching them. I'm excited for her!

Sunday, August 5, 2012. Well, it's been a splendid week! We also started teaching a new investigator named Daniel. He is a young college student from Columbia (there are so many hispanic cultures here in Gilbert-not just Mexican). He's super awesome! He came to church last week and really felt the Spirit and is super sincere. And he already has great faith in Christ. When we met him he said "So you can help me know more about your church? Blessings, blessings, blessings! Love, Hermana Anneli Hansen.

Jambo Mzungus!

Wednesday, July 21, 2010. If you've been following us on our trip, thank you so much. In our final week and a half, we still have two overnight trips, a decent amount of teaching, a trip north to witness ministry up there, a sports gala, a final service to lead and then our departure. So the youth workers here are getting every last drop out of us, haha. But we're glad they are. We've loved doing the ministry we've been able to do while being here. Thanks for all your prayers and we'll meet again soon!
