CANAL FISHING, CWPAN CYMRU, TNS RADIO (Blog entry 670). Now that we’re into spring proper with summer not too far away, I’ll be doing more overnighters and ‘kitchen sink’ jobs for carp, bream and tench. Of course, that sort of fishing involves a lot more effort in terms of gear. May 14, 2016. CANAL FISHING, CWPAN CYMRU, TNS RADIO (Blog entry 670). May 14, 2016.

(Carp) – Blog entry 622. June 13, 2015. Not all carp anglers have the desire to spend hundreds of nights chasing one very elusive fish on a huge, low-density venue. On the other hand, not everyone wants to fish an overstocked hole in the ground, where you catch a fish every few minutes. On places I have been on pr...

Mostly fishing, mainly North Norfolk. Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Clearing party on the reservoir to take out the lifted algal mat, this device was very successful. Back on the bridge for a clearer look at the massed ranks of chub. 2 barbel in there too. Sunday, 26 April 2015. Chub still massed on the gravels just above the iron bridge and proving quite a draw to walkers and drooling anglers alike. The number of 5lb plus fish is quite staggering, and several are bigger than that. They won't be ther...Finis...

Fishy Business, an angler's journal. Welcome to my angling diary. Here I will tell you about my trials and tribulations as I embark on my quest for Barbel (and other species) on the Warwickshire Avon, Severn and Teme. Thursday, 23 May 2013. Q and A with Martin Bowler. 1) Who do you consider the best angler you have ever had the pleasure to fish with and why? John Wilson, the great all-rounder. Sunday, 24 August 2014. 23/08/2014 - Another PB. Yesterdays session resulted in a couple of PB's between me and Ian,. The new PB chub of 3lb 12oz. But wait, there's more. I moved further downstream, swapping my little alphabet for a different patter and flicked it under some overhanging trees and felt another sudden sharp tug and weight pulling and lunging. Another chub! 4lb 2oz Chub graces the net! New PB for me. Ian's PB Chub of 4lb 6oz. I found it quiet unusual that there were no perch showing any int...

http://www.alexmakkfishing.com/2014/07/16072014-another-nice-perch-along-with.html
Wednesday, 16 July 2014. 16/07/2014 - Another nice perch along with a lovely pike. I had another few hours yesterday evening spent fishing the R.Trent with Ian. I myself was using the minnows/slashbait yet again with a few nice results. The tally for that session was 5 fish 3 of which were perch, 1 a pike and a small gudgeon! This Pike certainly liked my minnow as it gave a really good scrap on the Sakura Shinjin baitcast rod I have been using of late. Such beautiful markings on the pike.

Tuesday, 15 July 2014. Session reports for 8th and 13th July '14. Within the past couple of week I've been glued to youtube and various bass angling sites on how our American counterparts fish with minnows, or more commonly known over there as 'Jerkbaits'. As recently I received some floating and sinking minnows from being sprayed by Mark Houghton with this method of lure fishing in mind. Minnows recently sprayed up by Mark. Perch of 1.2lb. Ian Jack of a few lbs. All in all I can happily say that Sunday ...

Fishing Tips
Buying a Fishing Rods. If you have an interest in fishing, there are many different types of rods on the market. Buying them can be overwhelming as you look at rows and rows of rods. But it’s important to remember that there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration before putting money on a rod. The first two things that you need to consider are what type of fishing will you be doing with the rod and how experienced are you? Fishing boats come in all sizes, from small motorboats for inla...

The Adventures of The Angling Rev. Stewart Bloor's Angling Journal, updated every Saturday. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING (TENCH) – Blog entry 630. I continue to be stricken by tench fever as I register my fourth blog on the bounce dedicated to the species. The headline this week sums up my thoughts perfectly; I’m enjoying the pursuit of them and as far as I’m concerned that’s more than a good enough reason to stay on the tinca trail.….
