Sunday, November 2. Home - with friends. As if I weren’t spoiled enough alreadddddddyyyy! I was treated to an absolutely incredible lunch at the home of my new friend Shalini. Lovely home, complete with a housekeeper that works 7-4 e. Following an afternoon of laziness, we were prepped for another shopping excursion. The math just doesn’t add up: Michelle and Shalini aren’t “double-trouble” – they’re something on the magnitude of 1E 20! So first we were good girls, going to. Oh, how I love India. 8211; a...

Tonya2ChIndia: Home is where you hang your hat.

http://www.tonya2chindia.blogspot.com/2008/11/home-is-where-you-hang-your-hat.html

Sunday, November 2. Home is where you hang your hat. As with the last visit to Bangalore, I make fast friends with the hotel staff who introduce me to cool off-menu items they think I’ll coooo over (and cooo, I do….). The office was closed on Monday for the official “work holiday” of Divali, so (God forbid) I got to go shopping. A friend of mine here was gracious enough to take me to all my favorite places –. Of local landmarks, and an end of day treat walking through lush water gardens at a local resort.

Thursday, October 23. Yes, I really am. My luggage arrived with me. (Say it with me, folks:. Coming to Dalian is like visiting my old college town or somewhere I used to live for a short time. After all, I’ve been here 3x more than my beloved San Jose this year (no comments from the Dining Divas, please! Tonya2ChIndia: India -- where you can have your cake... and WEAR it, too!

Sunday, November 2. India - where you can have your cake. and WEAR it, too! Cuts a corner off the cake and approaches the birthday boy. What I thought was going to be a sweet offering to him of his birthday cake completely took me by surprise: she smashed it all over his face! And then the melee began – all three birthday boys had their cakes smeared all over their faces by their teammates! Apparently this was no surprise – it’s LOCAL CUSTOM. Just another day of living, learning, and loving… India. Where...

Tonya2ChIndia: Tomorrow -- NOT just another day at the office!

http://www.tonya2chindia.blogspot.com/2008/11/tomorrow-not-just-another-day-at-office.html

Sunday, November 2. Tomorrow - NOT just another day at the office! So – my first “real” weekend… and the spoiling continues! My friend who last year took me to Iskon – the fabulous contemporary Hindu temple here in Bangalore… she and her fiancé are taking me temple hopping to ancient temples 130 miles north of Bangalore. We’ll climb, we’ll gawk, and…. there will be SNAPS! You got it, folks! The return of something interesting and photographic to this blog! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tonya2India... again!: Rickshaw!

Thursday - 8pm IST. I got my auto-rick “fix” today. About 60 cents will get you across town with an open-cab view of the city on the back-side of a glorified motorcycle pulling a built-on shell of a two-seater cab. Friday, October 19, 2007. The flight was great – I was quite impressed with Jet Airways. First time in six years I’ve enjoyed a full-service meal with REAL silverware on a plane… :-). Tonya2India: October 2007

Thursday, October 25, 2007. The flight home was uneventful – except for the fact that there was no one in the seat next to me, which is always like getting an early Christmas gift. They did misplace one of my checked luggage pieces – but it was delivered to my house 4-5 hours later. Many have expressed interest in my photos. I have posted all of them to Picasa. Monday, October 15, 2007. Life is in the Journey, Not the Destination. I love your comment about not being able to take the country out of the girl. Only you could appreciate my comment to a group of "citified" young married couples recently."At age 10, I helped a cow give birth". This after I had just come from the office, where I, too, am "citified". Hope you are having a blast! October 16, 2007 at 10:31 AM. October 16, 2007 at 3:42 PM. October 16, 2007 at 8:15 PM. Thursday, February 14, 2008. Well here we GO! I leave early tomorrow morning on another wonderful (work-sponsored flight) journey! I arose early – lots to do… and the party continued. Though it wasn’t on the breakfast buffet, the team scrounged up a gulab jamon and brought to my table. Who would have ever thought Bangalore could be a little piece of Heaven? We returned to the hotel for dinner. Sareen joined us and he and we enjoyed a fabulous lamb and prawn dinner along with another reunion with my Baluchi Boys. The day started with a trip to my favorite church – St. Francis Xavier, a nearby Catholic church. The LaLit Ashok - Transformed! The hotel has been ablaze with activity this week in preparation for the big anniversary celebration on Friday night.
