I arose early – lots to do… and the party continued. Though it wasn’t on the breakfast buffet, the team scrounged up a gulab jamon and brought to my table. Who would have ever thought Bangalore could be a little piece of Heaven? We returned to the hotel for dinner. Sareen joined us and he and we enjoyed a fabulous lamb and prawn dinner along with another reunion with my Baluchi Boys. There was a ton of traffic at the hotel – for a birthday party for a two-year old! These people sure know how to entertain!

National State of Emergency. Wednesday - June 23, 9pm. Me better (and the spiral gulab jamons would make me feel. Better). I had wait staff telling me they'd pray for me when they did their puja last night. You'd think The Dalai Lama was on his deathbed! Staff have begged me to go to the hospital. The LaLit Ashok - Transformed! The hotel has been ablaze with activity this week in preparation for the big anniversary celebration on Friday night. Thought I’d share some pix of the preparation – a new stage and dance floor built over the pool, the glass walls removed between two of the restaurants turning everything into an open-air bar, and I love the one of Lobo all dressed up (more than normal) to greet the guests. Thursday, October 25, 2007. The flight home was uneventful – except for the fact that there was no one in the seat next to me, which is always like getting an early Christmas gift.
