Public thoughts on travel and life (from a very private person). Monday, September 5th, 2016. Where I’ve Been. One type of paradise. August 19, 2016. Public thoughts on travel and life (from a very private person). Monday, September 5th, 2016. Where I’ve Been. Wedding in the redwoods. June 29, 2015. This tall tree provided the backdrop for the ceremony. Sorry for the terrible picture quality – it is dark under such massive redwoods! The wedding cake, filled with poppy seeds, was one of the best I’ve had; I frown on fondant. I don’t even need caviar dreams when I’ve got buckets of champagne nearby. I found myself reflecting on the weddings I’ve attende...

Public thoughts on travel and life (from a very private person). Monday, September 5th, 2016. Where I’ve Been. Where I’ve Been. If someone asks where I want to go, my answer is always the same: everywhere. That’s mainly true, though there are a few exceptions, and certainly there are places that I would prefer to visit before others. For the most part, though, I’m curious enough to want to see how life happens in many different places. Some of my favorites? More than specific places, I often think of spe...

Live to Write – Write to Live. We live to write and write to live … professional writers talk about the craft and business of writing. The Importance of Reading Carefully. August 11, 2015. August 11, 2015. I goofed on Friday Fun when I didn’t read the question carefully, seeing only the headline, What One Book Would You Recommend? I didn’t see the fine print: it was supposed to be one book about writing. I can heartily endorse. If You Want To Write. Outwitting Writer’s Block and Other Problems of the Pen.

Far Out in Africa. Life in Central/Southern Africa and other adventures. C’est L’Afrique. Seen Around and About. The Hippo Series V – Lower Zambezi Valley. July 31, 2015. Earlier this month Piet and I were invited on a trip to the Lower Zambezi, where we stayed at a self-catering lodge called Munyemeshe. This lodge is on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River where wildlife wanders freely between the Game Management Area (or GMA) and the nearby Lower Zambezi National Park. In my last post. Wandering into adulthood
Growing into the woman and wife God created me to be. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Today is a bit of a sad day for Kenny and me. One of the sweetest women who adopted Kenny when he started working at Second Baptist so many years ago is now finally cancer free and in the presence of our savior. We have been following her husband's posts of her course of treatment and were able to see her and her husband last night before she passed. Monday, September 10, 2012. Officially a growed up. April 13, 2015. April 21, 2015. This past weekend Diana and I went to Venice for a weekend getaway. It was nice because the plane tickets were actually cheaper than plane tickets… BUT we realized it basically costs the same because it was 48 euros each way to the airport…. They gave us places to go to which really helped us because we had no idea what we were going to do over the weekend. All we knew was that we wanted to eat seafood and see the canals. It was soo delicious I still dream about it haha.

Wandering in Wellington | and throughout New Zealand
And throughout New Zealand. December 12th – 15th: Coromandel Peninsula. December 16, 2008. Our drive toward the Coromandel Peninsula took us on NewZealand’s Pacific Coast Highway — sound familiar. The tree with red blossoms in the background of this picture is the Pohutukawa, which we’d seen before. But without its flowers — it blooms in late December, earning its nickname as New Zealand’s Christmas tree.). The other Pacific Coast Highway. A full moon rising over the Pacific Ocean and the beach at Hahei.

Sharing, on a pilgrims journey. A Peace initiative on film. Here’s my Diamond Jubilee Beacon photo! I loved being part of something for the Jubilee – standing on a hill with about 200 people singing the Royal Anthem whilst the Beacon was lit, a link in a chain of light. I’m not usually much of a Royalist, but Bless Queenie – she has served loyally in the role she was put into to, and has done her best for us and to represent us positively. 8230;please God…). Adventures of a pioneer in Fulham, London. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. June 29, 2016. I was asked to write recently about the situation of regeneration and estates in London, here’s what I came up with…. London needs more houses but what happens when it’s decided that these houses should be packed onto the site of current estates? What happens to a community when its few hundred houses are destined to be replaced by several thousand? On other days when I see the effects of our hou...
