December 7th and 8th: Abel Tasman Coast Track | Wandering in Wellington

https://wanderinginwellington.wordpress.com/2008/12/16/abel-tasman-coast-track

And throughout New Zealand. Laquo; December 2nd and 3rd: Wild West Coast. December 9th – 11th: Island-hopping. December 7th and 8th: Abel Tasman Coast Track. Jonathan the hermit crab sets off down the trail amidst the subtropical bush. Bluebells like these grew wild all over the Abel Tasman. The track ran along the coast, occasionally leading along pristine white sand beaches. This weird, dimpled plant is the native Kowaowao, a.k.a. Hounds Tongue. A fuzzy, curled fern with the coast in the background.

December 12th – 15th: Coromandel Peninsula | Wandering in Wellington

And throughout New Zealand. Laquo; December 9th – 11th: Island-hopping. December 12th – 15th: Coromandel Peninsula. Our drive toward the Coromandel Peninsula took us on NewZealand’s Pacific Coast Highway — sound familiar. The tree with red blossoms in the background of this picture is the Pohutukawa, which we’d seen before. But without its flowers — it blooms in late December, earning its nickname as New Zealand’s Christmas tree.). The other Pacific Coast Highway. We drove on to Auckland, where we are no...

And throughout New Zealand. Laquo; November 24th and 25th: Doubtful Sound. November 29th – December 1st: Routeburn. November 26th – 28th: Adventures in Arrowtown. We spent a little time in Manapouri after our boat trip, before heading up to the Queenstown area. Becky on the edge of Lake Manapouri. On the way north, we discovered a niche market in rural New Zealand. Well, thats one way to make a living. The Tobin home, which has probably seen better days. Not your average backyard variety swing, they say.

December 2nd and 3rd: Wild West Coast | Wandering in Wellington

And throughout New Zealand. Laquo; November 29th – December 1st: Routeburn. December 7th and 8th: Abel Tasman Coast Track. December 2nd and 3rd: Wild West Coast. The flightless and incredibly friendly weka, which we spotted on the side of the road. Despite rain and ever-cloudy skies, we enjoyed driving up the West Coast, whch is known for being some of the most untamed and remote land in the country. We stopped roadside for more than a few pictures of the craggy coastline. You can follow any responses to...

November 29th – December 1st: Routeburn | Wandering in Wellington

And throughout New Zealand. Laquo; November 26th – 28th: Adventures in Arrowtown. December 2nd and 3rd: Wild West Coast. November 29th – December 1st: Routeburn. Lake Wakatipu, on the road from Queenstown to Glenorchy and the Routeburn track. We did a day-hike on the northern end of the famed Routeburn Track. One of New Zealand’s nine Great Walks. It was along the Routeburn River through an ancient beech forest, and as you’d expect on a hike of such distinction, it was beautiful. We tried to do a glacier...

Monday, March 5, 2012. Mark Garry installs hundreds of threads just so. When the light hits them just right. The many strands create rainbows. There’s something about the meticulous nature of the project and the beautiful result – what if we engineered rainbows in each nook of a home? All that color . I’m consistently impressed with artists’ logic: the initial idea and then to execute it. There’s such discipline and hard work involved. Wandering into adulthood

Growing into the woman and wife God created me to be. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Today is a bit of a sad day for Kenny and me. April 13, 2015. April 21, 2015. This past weekend Diana and I went to Venice for a weekend getaway. It was nice because the plane tickets were actually cheaper than plane tickets… BUT we realized it basically costs the same because it was 48 euros each way to the airport…. They gave us places to go to which really helped us because we had no idea what we were going to do over the weekend. All we knew was that we wanted to eat seafood and see the canals. It was soo delicious I still dream about it haha.

Wandering Éire

Ramblings from our exploration of Ireland in June 2013. Day 1: Friday (6/7/2013). Nothing like working a full day, dashing to the airport, and then catching an all-night flight to Paris. In coach, crammed by the engines and the bathrooms in back. If only I could detach my legs. I took a few notes on the in-flight food served by Air France. For those interested in what to expect on similar flights. Day 2: Saturday (6/8/2013). Behold, ye olde Vomit Comet. White-knuckled, I zipped through downtown Dublin in...
