Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm. Sunday, August 16, 2015. Summer 2015: Week 9. Last official week of summer for me (and I spent two days at school). We continued checking things off the bucket list this week, but also had to get ourselves organized. I go back to school TOMORROW and the kids go back on Thursday. I can't believe the summer has already come to an end! A fun day at a ropes course/zip line place on Lopez Lake. Lopez Lake is at 34%. We walked Bob Jones trail and enjoyed the beach.

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm: June 2014

http://www.blatheringsbysara.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm. Friday, June 20, 2014. A Little Trip "Home" to Portland. I took the train down and got to see a gorgeous sunset and sunrise. No edit on this one! Home Comm- just like old times. They surprised me with birthday brownies! Visiting the old 'hood. We miss a cup de sac. Amazing neighbors and friends. Still had to do a "drive by" the Falls. Oooh, look. A lighthouse! Oregon and all them bridges. Driving through a redwood. Continuing on through the forest toward home. The night ...

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm: August 2014

http://www.blatheringsbysara.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm. Sunday, August 24, 2014. We did another ash scatter today. We went over to Montaña de Oro and scattered them at Spooner's Cove. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. And the sights were stunning- our little piece of Heaven here on the Central Coast. I wrote a poem for Ez. You can read that HERE. It's hard to say goodbye to him over and over. But, we choose to do it because we want to continue to honor him here on earth. He's precious to us. And choosing not. Happy 7th Birth...

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Okay, y'all. I've got some freedom. I took a week to enjoy it, and now I'm finally updating you on recent family happenings. May means Mother's Day. Mine was low-key. I slept in. The kids made me cards. I got some fun kitchen stuff. We went to the beach and then Peter made a scrumptious dinner. It was nice to be celebrated. May brought us a performance from Jeremiah's school, in which he had a small, but big part. How's that? And, finally, I went to...

Somewhere Between Chaos and Calm. Thursday, August 13, 2015. This year, I had school and Peter had to work. So, we celebrated after dinner with homemade cupcakes and ice cream. Simple and sweet. Morning SonRise: 31 August 2008

http://morningsonrise.blogspot.com/2008_08_31_archive.html

Have a wonderful, blessed day, and may you see the hand of God in all that you do. Thursday, September 04, 2008. OK, so it's time I get this out . . . I have been mulling it over, chewing on it, processing through and all that junk for far too long . . . I need to "talk it through" to really process it, I think. Reading the Word is like chewing on leather, and prayer just seems to just dissipate like mist. Where does that leave me? In this darkness, John pursued God even more relentlessly, more passionat...

Morning SonRise: Stepping Down...

http://morningsonrise.blogspot.com/2008/12/stepping-down.html

Have a wonderful, blessed day, and may you see the hand of God in all that you do. Wednesday, December 24, 2008. I have been thinking a lot lately (I know, VERY uncommon for me :D) about Jesus . . . What do you suppose it was like for Him to step down out of eternity into the finite? How do you think it felt for Him to give up the infinite for the fragile? I wonder what it must have been like for Him. I also wonder if I would recognize Him . . . would I know Him as a child? Would I recognize my King?

Have a wonderful, blessed day, and may you see the hand of God in all that you do. Thursday, May 22, 2008. Waiting is so hard to do . . . I really am a product of my generation - I want it, and I want it NOW! Yet, as you can see, I've been going through a bit of a spiritual dry-spell lately, and can't seem to "shake" it. I have tried EVERYTHING that has worked in the past, and yet I still feel so disconnected. From God and His life-giving passion. Indeed, "blessed are those who wait for Him! So, maybe God.

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Halloween, look what you've done. If you're like me, you're tired of hearing anyone and everyone older than you saying "when I was a kid, [insert national holiday here] was nothing like this, it was like [insert simpler glazed over version of situation .". And you may or may not roll your eyes. I don't want to be another one of those people. Monday, January 16, 2012. Pinning- with amazing results! Knows there are surly and snarky people like me, who like to rain on people's cheeziness. They have designed a site that forces me to be positive. God might have helped fund it just to make me a better person. Of man, not that kind. It's why I couldn't be in Las Madres. And why I'm the odd mom at the Girl Scout meetings. Why I can't go to pyramid scheme parties. And why Live Laugh Love. Makes me want to break something. Read: 3 * :) AMAZING *.

Saturday, December 17, 2011. After realizing that sleeping in wasn't happening (because at dawn the kids were screaming and flopping on the bunk beds butted right against our headboard wall), I decided to use our over-sized bathtub for the first time in 6 months. Like an aquatic version. It takes a while to fill up, so you have to kinda' plan the bath and have some time carved out. I filled it up, and even dug up the sea mineral mask I had paid way too much for and slathered that on. Subscribe to: Post C...

Have a wonderful, blessed day, and may you see the hand of God in all that you do. Saturday, October 04, 2008. God's Beauty. . . I am here in Vernon, AZ enjoying a weekend of solitude and silence (well, almost). Can I just say that it is amazing! It is cloudy and windy and cool . . . the view out the window is spectacular, and I am just soaking it all up. It shows character. Scars show strength and the beauty that comes from those ashes is breathtaking. God is the most amazing artist, isn't He? As an art...

Wednesday, November 5, 2008. It's the day after the election and I feel stifled and irritated by comments of those around me. Well, it's about time. Friday, March 26, 2010. Does this look right to you? My Sidekick is out of town. We are talking on the phone. It's mid-day. Me: There's something in the backyard, and I'm not sure what it is. Sidekick: What do you mean something in the backyard. Me: I woke up this morning and saw a yellow thing just sitting in the yard. Sidekick: What kind of yellow thing? Me: I don't know. I can't tell. I'm a little nervous to go look. Sidekick: How big is it? Me: Could it be a lemon? I am so good...
