A hungry Swede in London: January 2013
http://ahungryswedeinlondon.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Monday, 21 January 2013. Red lentil banh mi wraps. Vietnam also has some of the best coffee I ever tasted, marginally beaten by Portugal and Brazil. Got to stop thinking of Vietnam now, got such itchy feet, want to go travel now now now! Below are two images from when I went to Vietnam in 2009. It's such a beautiful country. Floating food market on the Mekong river in south Vietnam. Beautiful lanterns in Hoi An. Anyhow, back to banh mi! An excellent vegan blog. The vegetables last for up to one week ...

A hungry Swede in London: July 2011
http://ahungryswedeinlondon.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Monday, 4 July 2011. Summery lemon pasta with chicken. As it is summer now, at least it is possible to find good fresh vegetables and fruits also here in the UK. One of my new flatmates told me about a street market close to where I now live that apparently got good veg and fish, so I really need to check that out soon. Summery lemon pasta with chicken (4-6 portions). 500 g pasta, I used penne. 4 chicken fillets, sliced. 1 tbsp Colman's mustard powder. 05 dl light soy sauce. 3 garlic cloves, pressed.

Wednesday, 28 March 2012. Sigrid Barany - Swedish Masterchef 2012. I am so incredibly happy and proud today, because one my best and oldest friends, Sigrid Barany, has today won Swedish Masterchef! The Swedish Masterchef is similar to British and Australian Masterchef, with amateur cooks competing for the title. It's been fantastic, exhilarating, and nerve wracking seeing my friend on TV, but she's been AMAZING! I can't wait to get her cook book when it comes out in April. The hungry Swede aka Saga.

A hungry Swede in London: February 2012

Monday, 27 February 2012. Reading a recent post on Picki picki. About broccoli side dishes reminded me of a broccoli dip/spread/sauce I used to do quite frequently last year, and I made it again last weekend. I use it as a spread on fresh bread, or as a dip for carrots when I'm trying to be healthy (while conveniently forgetting the fact there is quite a bit of cheese in the dip), or I stir it into pasta for a quick dinner. 1 medium-sized heads of broccoli. 1 lemon, juice. 2 garlic cloves, minced. This r...

Nordljus: Pâtes à Tartiner

Apologies for neglecting my blog once again – it’s been a really busy summer and I’ve been travelling a lot for work. Although I shouldn’t be complaining about being busy, my poor kitchen has also been sadly neglected (I’m the only cook in the house) and I’m hoping to get back to some autumn cooking soon. Before I go off again, I wanted to share an exciting project I worked on earlier this year. I had fun shooting a cookbook. For French publisher Marabout. With the talented food writer Rachel Khoo. Eating In: Pie in the Sky - A Daring Baker's Challenge
http://letseatin.blogspot.com/2008/01/pie-in-sky-daring-bakers-challenge.html
Monday, January 28, 2008. Pie in the Sky - A Daring Baker's Challenge. Being a Daring Baker. And all I participated in this month’s challenge of Lemon Meringue Pie other wise known as Ferengi Pie in our geeky household. This kind of pie is also known as Calf Slobber Pie in my mom’s house … I guess that makes sense as we’ve always raised cattle and meringue looks a lot like baby calf slobbers. We’re an odd bunch around here. I loved, with a deep and lasting passion, the pie crust in the recipe. Alas, for ...

A hungry Swede in London: August 2012
http://ahungryswedeinlondon.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 August 2012. I have finally bought myself a food processor, and hopefully that means less blood in the coleslaw and more grated beetroot salads! I've been ill for the past week, got a pesky cold and nasty cough. I'm feeling really sorry for myself, in particular as it meant that I spent last bank holiday weekend in bed. Not fun :(. Anyhow, since I bought this beautiful machine earlier, I could treat myself to mango milkshakes, yummy! The hungry Swede aka Saga. Saturday, 18 August 2012.
