Dan & Hillary... Life by the Bay: Autumn in a glance
http://danandhillary.blogspot.com/2012/11/autumn-in-glance.html
Dan and Hillary. Life by the Bay. Keeping close across the miles. Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Autumn in a glance. Summer has long ago wrapped up but this Canadian-Cali-girl hangs on as long as possible. That means enjoying garden tomatoes long past Labor Day and "hooky" beach days in October, when school just doesn't seem as important. Dan and I and the kids met my parents at Lassen National Park in mid-September for some 'camping' (i.e. air conditioned cabin with a kitchenette). A last splash in the poo...

Dan and Hillary. Life by the Bay. Keeping close across the miles. Saturday, January 03, 2015. Living, Learning, Loving. Food. To any that know me, they know (and hopefully have been served) food that I love to cook- but preferably, bake. Martha Stewart? One of my closest best friends. Her dessert recipes, especially. They're dependable, flawless, and delicious. What's not to love? Http:/ www.trimhealthymama.com/. Her lemon bars in her picture posted above). Http:/ www.gwens-nest.com/. One Canadian girl a...

Dan and Hillary. Life by the Bay. Keeping close across the miles. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Week 25 vs. Week 33 (now). Besides the normal aches and pains of pregnancy, I'd say this is a 'good thing' that God thought up! PS- the neighbor beside us decided to cut back the trees on the fence line in preparation to sell the house. I LOVE the winter sunlight! Our bedroom is so bright now during the day.). Saturday, November 19, 2011. If You're Planning on Shopping this Christmas season. I really hope to a...

Dan and Hillary. Life by the Bay. Keeping close across the miles. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. This picture above is our only (therefore, first! Sunday was a relaxing day with another empowering sermon from one of our pastors. Although I dearly miss our old church, our new church home has had a spiritual banquet of lessons for us to learn. Russell now knows that we will let him order whatever he wants when we go to a restaurant (his palate is limited, so I know it won't be steak for a few more years! Russell's...

Dan and Hillary. Life by the Bay. Keeping close across the miles. Monday, July 09, 2012. Great-Grandma (Nana) meeting Elliott for the first time. 99 years apart! Grandma and Camille at the Forest Discovery Museum on the Island. The Sunday after we returned home was Canada Day (July 1st), so that called for a grill-out and guests! A (literal) taste of summer! Fresh cherry tomatoes for our tummies and ripening squash and peas and sunflowers to come. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). One Canadian girl and one Ame...

Sunday, May 9, 2010. The BESTEST Husband EVER. This Mother's Day, Rob shined! Indulge me while I brag a little. Saturday he had tulips and chocolates delivered (sigh.). Saturday he took me shopping for two things I wanted: 1) a pan to make dutch babies in, 2) a pan for pop overs which I have been looking for. Sunday morning I was awoken to snuggles from my boys and cards. Rob made me beignets and cafe au lait for breakfast. Our very own homemade donuts. Faux-mosas in champagne flutes. Verse of the Day.

Thursday, April 15, 2010. Muse @ Oracle Arena. We went to see Muse at the Oracle Arena. We had good seats, but the video I took from my phone didn't translate well to anything better than viewing it on a phone. That show kicked a*! That's all I can say about that. Enjoy (someone else's video of the night)! Double-click on videos to launch bigger version in YouTube. Posted by The Atkins Family. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Verse of the Day. atkins family: Naomi - 4 Months
http://clanoftheatkins.blogspot.com/2011/04/naomi-4-months.html
Monday, April 4, 2011. Naomi - 4 Months. Naomi is 4 months old. Here's what she's like:. Sleeps well at night - only one feeding and back to sleep. Loves her play mat (gymini). Loves her brother - he kisses her head. She weighs 14 lbs (about 50th percentile), is 75 percentile in length. So she's long. Eyes appear to be on their way to brown (her brother has hazel eyes). She breaks out in hives on her face when she cries (just like her mommy). So she's the only other person I know that this happens to.
atkins family: It Would Be SHOCKING to Grandpa
http://clanoftheatkins.blogspot.com/2010/03/it-would-be-shocking-to-grandpa.html
Friday, March 12, 2010. It Would Be SHOCKING to Grandpa. My Grandparents were constantly amazed at how things change. And continuously lamenting the loss of the things they loved. My Grandma died in 1991 and my Grandpa died a couple of years after that, both in their 60's. I began to imagine their amazement if they had been alive to see the world as it is now. Some changes they'd love and some they'd hate, but all are shocking. My List of Things That Would Shock Grandma and Grandpa:. She used to make me ...

Our blog. Just little blips from our life, hopefully some nice pictures and some fun times. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. After waking up in Nanutarra after perhaps the best night sleep in a tent ever, I took what might go down as the best shower/shave in history. Water pressure, hot water, plenty of it, no red dirt in the shower, clean feet. Getting out of the shower, we packed up our tents, and had a quick breakfast. As we dine, wild parrots are bathing in a morning pool. Can you see the house? Like from a ...

Dan and Helen's Blog | Our blog for our time in Zambia
Dan and Helen's Blog. Our blog for our time in Zambia. August 11, 2011. Joshua is not the real name of the boy this blog entry is about. You’re very unlikely to meet him but somehow it seems right to ‘protect his identity’ as they say. Joshua is 16, looks 11, and is deaf. My decision was fuelled by the fact that I’d been told the other four children at Munali were really worried about Joshua and my contact at Munali had asked me to take him to visit the family. Joshua’s mum was speaking all this in Nyanj...

Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Quincy and I visited the Tulip Festival with Jeffrey and Grandma and it was beautiful. I was worried that Quincy wouldn't enjoy looking at a bunch of flowers, but she loved it! Sunday, October 4, 2015. So, I called my cousin Tiffany in Burley, Idaho and asked if we could come visit for a couple days. She graciously accepted. We spent an hour packing, stopped by our dad's office to say goodbye, and then we were on the road! How's that for spontaneity? The sky in Idaho is so incr...

It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information." - Oscar Wilde. Thursday, May 10, 2012. I guess I have finally decided which possible future to take. Picture the future to be this really far off place over the horizon and where you are right now is an intersection with many arrows pointing to all sorts of paths. Some paths paved with gravel, others paved with asphalt. All leading to the grave. At the end of the road, everyone ends up where it all began. Dan and his Devices.
