Boots on the Ground
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2015/05/so-at-risk-of-being-like-this-guy.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. So, at the risk of being like this guy. I received two posts from Facebook friends today. The first said this;. If your church doesn't have an Ascension Day service, ask your pastor why. If your church has one and you don't attend, ask yourself why. The second was much longer, and can be found here. Two posts, both purporting to be Christian messages, both so full of hate and judgement that I worried on them for a couple of hours. What A Fascinating Modern World We Live In.

Boots on the Ground: July 2013
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 27, 2013. Another lovely Saturday. Really, although its predicted to be only in the high 60s today (a record is expected; lowest high ever! We've been eating green beans, basil and tomatoes from the garden. Potatoes are almost ready to be dug, at least some small, new ones. Flowers look nice, horse is grazing well, and poultry is growing plump and sassy. Speaking of sassy, a Jersey heifer of that name should be gracing our pasture soon! Links to this post. Boots on the Ground: March 2013
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 31, 2013. Laid for me today by my hens. Thank you, ladies. Links to this post. Thursday, March 28, 2013. This week is Spring Break. We've been relaxing on a warm Southern beach, enjoying some time off. We've been working busily on and off our farm. Off the farm, we bought a "new" garden tractor and a "new" car. Both were desperately needed, and are welcome expenditures. Links to this post. Saturday, March 2, 2013. Saturday Farm Report, And So it Begins Edition. Links to this post.

Chocolot: The Many Uses of a Repurposed Piece of Furniture
http://chocolot.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-many-uses-of-repurposed-piece-of.html
If Would Like to Follow my Blog by Email. Sunday, May 12, 2013. The Many Uses of a Repurposed Piece of Furniture. I have always been one to try and figure out how to use what I have when a new need arises rather than purchasing something. I can think of lots of examples but one sticks out in my mind that I thought I would share. Even when something seems on it's last leg (pun intended - you'll see why), it can be repurposed. Boots on the Ground: February 2014
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 8, 2014. Today's report reports that we are off the farm! Regular readers may remember that this blog began as a way to chronicle/discuss/share news about our middle son's deployment to Iraq in 2008. I continued it afterward, mostly because it was fun. This weekend we are at a pre-deployment briefing weekend. The Guard has ensconced us in a cute hotel, and, in the morning, we'll start a round of incredibly fascinating (I'm sure! Links to this post. Boots on the Ground: January 2013
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 29, 2013. A tornado or some twirling wind phenomenon had gone along the tops of the trees and broken them off. I was concerned that that was happening again, but no twisted trees this morning! I got a sad letter yesterday. The local bovine veterinarian is paring down his practice, letting go a second vet and a secretary who had been with him for years and years. He'll still be practicing, God willing, for many years. He's the only bovine vet around! Links to this post. The farm looks awf...

Boots on the Ground: A Day in the Life
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-day-in-life.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A Day in the Life. You know, when you think about living on a farm- even a small farmette, like ours- it seems so.bucolic? Let me tell you about my day. So, I wake up around 6:30, have a cup of coffee, feed the dog. Mind you, at this point, I'm already half an hour "late." How can I be late, you ask, if its my home, my day, my routine? So I drink the elixir of life, check email and Facebook, and then head to the kitchen to mix goat formula. Gimpy wants OUT, and right NOW! I hea...

Boots on the Ground: Where Did the Week Go?
http://boots2008.blogspot.com/2015/04/where-did-week-go.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. Where Did the Week Go? I mean, my last post was on Saturday, and it can't be more than a day later, right? Seriously, the week had just flown by. There was cleaning done, and more cleaning. Goats were fed, and fed again. They had their "boy" operation, which meant a visit from our favorite vet. I'm considering a momentous decision, which I'll talk about when its been made. Don't you just love vague statements like that? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mom of 4, steadily retiri...
