January 13, 2015. Unfortunately my week has not gone as planned. I was looking forward to an easy week in the build up to my first race of 2015, however injury prevented this. After an easy 5 mile run last Monday I started to experience issues with my ankle, I didn’t suffer from any discomfort during the run however afterwards the pain was evident. Back up and running →. December 30, 2014. Unfortunately, last Sunday I missed out on the London marathon ballot for the second time this year, this time via our club ballot. A couple of weeks ago I appeared to be guaranteed a place however it wasn’t to be. Whilst I am gutted to miss out on the chance of running at London in 2015, I have come around to the idea of running the Greater Manchester Marathon instead. January 26, 2015. So, I’ve managed to complete another successful weeks worth of training. After my recent injury I have been worried about suffering from a recurrence of the problem however I seem to be fine thus far. At this moment in time I’m extremely happy with where my training is up to and thanks to a consistent long run weekly I’m happy to say I’m actually ahead of schedule. So officially there’s now less than 12 weeks to go and it’s almost time to start getting some races in. Back up and running.

January 5, 2015. Second week of marathon preparation took me to Betws-y-coed for a break over new year. I did manage to get a couple of short runs in however it was more about taking a break with my girlfriend and the family. Whilst I was there I did notice that running in the Welsh hills is some what tougher than I had expected however the scenery is something else. Stop weight a minute. St Ives 10k →. A very busy week so far. On Tuesday I was extremely tired so I decided to have a rest day and give my body a proper opportunity to recover after my long run on Sunday and leg session on Monday. Thunder Run 2015 →. On Sunday 19th July I completed the St Ives 10k for the second time. It as a warm but breezy day and this made for an interesting first half of the race which was out across a local airfield with nowhere to hide from the wind.
