The Peak Condition Project - Jessica

Tuesday, November 3, 2009. I bow to Fred and Sidney. Sad, the PCP is finished. That's o.k., I'll just go eat some cake. (KIDDING). No cookies, and smiles times (day 90). In June, I ended my Peace Corps West Africa service and returned to America with one goal in mind: to eat my way through Dr. Phil’s Weight Loss Challenge “what not to eat” section. I found the book in a discarded “Books for Africa” box. (Seriously, who donates a weight loss book to Africa! What’s wrong with you? Throughout my service, I ...

The Peak Condition Project - Jessica: PCP for life

http://thepeakconditionproject-jessica.blogspot.com/2009/10/pcp-for-life.html

Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Jumpropes. An epic and delicious PCP breakfast. A loooonnnng drive. A restaurant dinner of sickly lettuce and a few bits of deli turkey. Made do with a hotel breakfast (i.e. "no fat" but not no sugar yogurt, scrambled eggs, apple, Raisin Bran). Read something about "supersets" and went, "huuuuh? Called rude shuttle man and scheduled ride. I had BETTER get that job.geeeeez. I don't find out for 4 weeks though.). October 27, 2009 at 11:11 PM. Youll get the job! Remember, when you...

The Peak Condition Project - Jessica: Gnomes (day 82)

http://thepeakconditionproject-jessica.blogspot.com/2009/10/gnomes-day-82.html

Wednesday, October 21, 2009. I woke up at four am to a massive thunderstorm and the phrase "the tiny gnome kingdom of Kyrgyzstan is living in your nostrils! Echoing in my head. I love to read. My first suggestion was that you read David Mitchell, for his sheer imagination and inventiveness. One of the authors that Mitchell looks up to, and rightly so, is Vladimir Nabokov. I would exhort, beg, and plead that you read Nabokov! Read him for his dreamy, dripping, luscious prose. A j-o-b job (day 73).

The Peak Condition Project - Amy W: September 2009

http://thepeakconditionproject-amyw.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 27, 2009. Finally took some photos.I really do not like getting my picture taken.and will also take one in the fab new dress! Until then, thought this was a lovely shot of the dress itself. Seriously, would NEVER have tried this on before. An Endorsement and I missed you guys! As we connected with folks, there were a few questions and comments that were heard quite often and most of all, I thought that the sleep deprivation would do me in. You see, as a new parent, there is so much you ...

The Peak Condition Project - Mike: Day 81

http://thepeakconditionproject-mike.blogspot.com/2009/10/day-81.html

Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Tomorrow when I go I'll have to poke my head in the gym so I can do my homework. Also, day EIGHTY ONE? The heck did that happen? October 20, 2009 at 7:18 PM. Dude, I used to work getting multilateral aid to the education sector of Turkmenistan. Did you just pull that out of your ass? October 20, 2009 at 8:47 PM. Do you know Iveta? Nah, for real a lot of comparative education is about Africa, but what isnt is about the post-Soviets, so yeah, thats what I read about.

The Peak Condition Project - E: October 2009

http://thepeakconditionproject-e.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 30, 2009. Today is all wrong. That just seems to be the best way to describe it. No jumps. No strength exercises. No measuring the food. No portion allotments. Nothing. Although I was loathe to do so, I took a break from the PCP lifestyle due to much encouragement for the contrary. I guess the best way to think of is as another experiment in indulgences. So, what have I snacked on so far? 8212Some swiss and munster cheese (about 7 pieces). 8212Two donut holes (a plain and a powdered).

Sunday, November 1, 2009. Day 92: End Title. Well, this is it&#8212my final post to this blog, which has been a part of my life for three full months. What can I say&#8212it has been an incredible journey! I know the question on everyone's mind is: "Did E manage to survive Halloween or was the temptation so great that he succumb to the delectable heavenly sweetness of sugar and carbs to the point where they had to roll him home like the Blueberry Girl from Willy Wonka. Monday, November 9, 2009. Thing is, isn't like every treat in aisle 5 the same thing? Some fat, some sugar, some flavor. Why do people get grossed out at berries covered in crisco but chow down a Little Debbie cupcake? I say good luck to everyone else, this was fun, keep at it and enjoy life. The Peak Condition Project - Mike: Day 83 - Goals Smoals

http://thepeakconditionproject-mike.blogspot.com/2009/10/day-83-goals-smoals.html

Thursday, October 22, 2009. Day 83 - Goals Smoals. The latest Zen is Stupid touched on something that I think about a lot. The discussion was about what we set goals for, and how goals themselves can become an attachment. As I near the end of my PCP, I thought I might reflect on this here. I've thought about this in two areas: fitness and education. I'll start with fitness. My goal with the PCP was to get in excellent shape, that I would carry through the winter. Do you see what's happened there? I've go...

Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Day 89 Or Day 84. PCP Blues! Just read E's entry for T-2. He is the Sean of our group. Am pretty excited for him and for everyone of us but i have done something which is pretty disappointing. It might have something to do with the fear of what lies beyond PCP but it could just be a rationalization that my mind is coming up with. Here is what happened. October 28, 2009 at 11:09 AM. Sunday, September 27, 2009. Day: 58. Too many Digressions. Champagne, Red Wine, Gratin - oh My! The usual weekly measurement. A glass of Champagne. A glass of red wine Chicken Stew. Just the smallest bit of pok choy you can imagine :). (This was the only PCP friendly stuff). Cheese Cake (Generous Serving) Dessert Wine. Even the PCP indulgence was not as bad as this one. My wife was nudging me to stop but i don't know what happened :). I did enjoy the food but the guilt came knocking right after. Seeing s...

Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Ok, here are the "final" pics. Obviously still need some work to get into Peak Condition, but a huge improvement nonetheless. First, let's revisit Day 1:. Hmm, pretty nice.but to really appreciate the belly you've got to see it from the side:. I could actually sit in a chair and rest my drink on my belly without it spilling. Now for the Day 90 comparison pics:. And the side view:. So, what were the results? Congratulations to all the new PCP grads! Sunday, May 22, 2011. I'm also su...

Thursday, August 5, 2010. Greetings from the Post-PCP Life! Mom and I flexing at 12,000 feet: Independence Pass, CO. It's been a crazy ride. I put off the 'thoughts-after-90-days' post because immediately after finishing PCP, I got sick! Listening to my body and acknowledging I was really sick helped. Going to the doctor helped. Camping and hiking with my parents in the mountains helped. Having a routine helped- jogging and coffee with Dad at 5:30am? Hiking with the family near Aspen, CO. Salmon my dad g...

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. How is this going to make me feel? I've been allowing myself yummy indulgences, though. I ate out TWICE yesterday. OMG! I miss jumping rope. I've made myself take the last two days off from workouts. I rode my bike, though! Did I say that? Ok, ok, how about some pictures? Here's a gratuitous muscle shot. I've made some great progress physically and mentally. I have two physical markers, my 1 pull-up! I've never been all that flexible, but I definitely became more flexible while ...

The Peak Condition Project - Jeremiah Andrick

Wednesday, September 2, 2009. Ok… So 90 came and went. So you may or probably may not be asking yourself, why hasn’t Jeremiah posted his last post.  There are two reasons:. As always I am on the road. I couldn’t find my camera. So I am going to tell you my story and add shot from someone else because I have that. So lets get real. What did I achieve:. I lost 15 lbs.  . I am now a size 33 jeans down from 36. I am a size 16.5 dress shirt down from 17.5 . I had to get my glasses tightened. I suck at pull ups.

Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Day 27 - The journey continues. Some random thoughts on the progress and changes to body:. Keeping as much as possible to the diet program. I had two bites of chocolate on Monday, but everything else is going swimmingly. For some reason (I think Patrick already mentioned it), I've had an on-again, off-again headache this week.
