The Peak Condition Project - Heather

Tuesday, October 27, 2009. What I ate and what I didn't. On the birthday I consumed:. One glass of champagne. A bite of a donut - I normally would have finished the donut even if it was horrible but I couldn't help but think 'it is sooo not worth it'. I had this box of Belgian chocolates that came with a birthday gift. I gave all the chocolate away except for one piece. Had one bite and then threw the rest away. Tonight I run. Whee! The Peak Condition Project - Heather: September 2009

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-heather.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 28, 2009. Day 91 - With Ease. I should be jumping for joy right now and screaming done from the rooftops but I am not. And I'm really ok with that. I am NOT in peak condition and that is the whole point of this project. So I keep on keeping on hoping that by the end of this - which is approximately three weeks before my first half marathon - I'll be in kick ass shape. Labels: Peak Condition Project. The Peak Condition Project - Heather: Day 84 - 125 Days

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-heather.blogspot.com/2009/09/day-84-125-days.html

Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Day 84 - 125 Days. Back in July when I was going through a 'slump' - in quotes because not working out and drinking every night is more like an utter fail but 'slump' sound so much nicer - Patrick offered to let me continue on with the PCP for 125 days instead of the standard 90. And I quickly said yes. There was no hemming or hawing and thinking about it, it is the right thing to do for me. Anyway 125 days. I'm looking forward to the pain. Labels: Peak Condition Project.

The Peak Condition Project - Heather: July 2009

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-heather.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 31, 2009. Day 31 - Backwards and Forward. So, I'm finally home. Oh my hell. I've never experienced such pure orgasmic bliss as when I first stepped into the co-op roughly 20 minutes after my flight landed. Screw going to get gas or seeing my family, I needed some cherries dammit! So I've been eating SO much better, in turn I feel so much better. Also, I'm going back. To day 21. Friday, July 24, 2009. Day 24 - So this isn't good. Labels: Peak Condition Project. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Next we...

The Peak Condition Project - Melanie: Crisis

http://thepeakconditionproject-melanie.blogspot.com/2009/10/crisis.html

Thursday, October 15, 2009. October 15, 2009 at 8:20 PM. Do your best, even your worst day on the PCP is better than most peoples healthiest days. October 16, 2009 at 5:12 AM. Hey, youre eating more fruit, tried liking yogurt, and youre looking good, Melanie! Ive got a friend who always answers the obligatory how are you with a pause, big smile, and by saying, Im doing the best that I can. Seems like youre doing the best you can right now, and thats more than good enough. Hang in there! Got a new jumprop...

The Peak Condition Project - Melanie: September 2009

http://thepeakconditionproject-melanie.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Day 93 (Day 58 Revisited): I'm Baaaaaaack! Today I started my PCP extension! On to Day 125! I read that my new start would begin back on Day 58, which is where I left off before The Sickness. I found my pile of PCP printouts, found Day 58 and all my hash marks. Huh. I did this before. I can do it again. Totally was channeling Mike's Monday motivational video so thank you! Now I found my pace for the timed jumps. Nice! To get back into the groove, I tried to imagine myself i...

The Peak Condition Project - Melanie: Day 104 (Day 70 Revisited): Mountains or Molehills?

http://thepeakconditionproject-melanie.blogspot.com/2009/10/day-104-day-70-revisited-mountains-or.html

Monday, October 12, 2009. Day 104 (Day 70 Revisited): Mountains or Molehills? I broke my jumprope while jumping in my second set of jumps tonight. At $1.99 from Target, though, it served me well! Guess I'll get a new one tomorrow. I tried some Greek yogurt. Fage. Brand First, a tiny spoonful. I made a face. But it was better than regular yogurt! I consider this progress. I then dipped some celery into it. Better! I still hate yogurt. But I tried another new food, thanks to the PCP and PCPers. Subscribe t...

The Peak Condition Project - Pey: Day 84 - Body Fat %

http://thepeakconditionproject-pey.blogspot.com/2009/09/day-84-body-fat.html

Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Day 84 - Body Fat %. I had not measured my weight / fat% during the course of my PCP. The only way I could tell if there had been a progress was via 1) visual (from the photos that I took every week) and 2) My clothes size (my jeans are looser, so it's time to buy new clothes! A friend sent me a link to a body fat content test. No harm giving it a shot. I counted mine, 17.3%! That brings me out of the category of "below average asian women" and into "top athletes"!

The Peak Condition Project - Pey: Day 72 and 73 - Surrealism

http://thepeakconditionproject-pey.blogspot.com/2009/09/day-72-and-73-surrealism.html

Friday, September 11, 2009. Day 72 and 73 - Surrealism. Sometimes, life is just too surreal, and I feel like I am standing on the verge of reality and lala-ness. Things happened too fast and time zipped by too quickly. Sometimes, it's hard to keep track the events and people that whizzed by us. Changes are typical "I know" scenarios, yet when change comes, we're often taken aback and find it hard to embrace it. This reminds me of an old favorite of Dali's. . . It's all about perspective. Day 59.60&#4...

The Peak Condition Project - Melanie: November 2009

http://thepeakconditionproject-melanie.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 5, 2009. It's Been Real, It's Been Fun . But It Ain't Been Real Fun! My apologies: didn't mean to leave everyone hanging I've just been uh a little preoccupied and distracted. But I wanted to give my wrap-up on the PCP. In the simplest terms, I got to know myself better. My triggers in terms of what makes me sing and feel triumphant (checking off my little PCP to do list, really enjoying my meal) and what can derail me (the blues, routine interruption, feeling famished). So um yea &#46...

Sunday, August 30, 2009. We're going on vacation in 2 - count'em - 2 days! This will be our first "extended" (i.e. longer than a single overnight) vacation in OVER THREE YEARS. Can you say "we deserve it"? Oh yeah, I posted some new pics. Look, ma, I have abs! Sort of. Furry abs. But at least we're getting there. Friday, August 28, 2009. Great for mixing up with fried eggs. Anyway, it's late and I need to go to bed. Gonna make another attempt at this whole "getting up early and exercising" thing. From L ...

Sohave I arrived at the place I wanted to be when I first started the PCP journey? Well, unfortunately, no, I'm not. Am I in "Peak Condition"? Ohand I'll upload some pics in the next few days. Saturday, October 10, 2009. Day 102 (Day 68 Revisited): Baby It's Cold Outside. Here is what I woke up to today:. This is my backyard patio, complete with homegrown pumpkins. Temperatures outside: mid 20s Fahrenheit. Temperature in the closed garage (my new exercise spot):. October 10, 2009 at 2:40 PM. Thats fubar. Its barely fall! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saturday, October 2, 2010. It's day 91 and there are peppermint patty and pb cup wrappers strewn all over my apt. .PSYCH! In all fairness, with me that's totally possible. :P Heck, on the day I met Brett (team running rats, who told me about the pcp), I offered him pork rinds and pringles at 9AM. When he said no, I just figured PRP wasn't everybody's idea of breakfast. Little did I know. I'm sure he was probably disgusted. 1) WWSD - what would sarah do. 2) There I said it, now I have to do it. I take sto...

In the past 90 days I've managed to start a new job, get married to GT and complete the PCP! After getting married, and now that PCP is over thing should hopefully start to wind down a bit. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Day 90: The Loneliness at the Peak. Well, that's not the title you expected, was it? Yesterday marked 90 days for me. I guess now I get a big "COMPLETE" stamp on my blog header (I've told Patrick I'd prefer updated pictures since the me of 90 days ago looks a little different than the me of today). This is what I've taken out of the project. If you've watched and wondered for the past three months, this is it. How did she know? I thought. How did she sense my frustration? Lonely&#...

Saturday, October 2, 2010. What I've learned - pt. 1 - food. So I'm done. I still can't believe that I made it. I've been so hungry. The fiber is an amazing wonder. Before doing pcp, I was aware in an abstract way that food is the body's fuel and that what you eat affects how you feel, but since I'd always been eating the same things I couldn't really see how better food makes you feel better. Now I've felt it and lived it and it's so clear how much what you eat affects how you feel. 91 Day 90 wrap up.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Day 3 - PCP redux. Well, folks -. After a great PCP, I've slipped off the wagon. I was hamstrung twice - once with my father dying three weeks after PCP ended, and twice with the development of Achilles tendinitis almost immediately after I started getting back on track (which, truthfully, I could have worked around. Equally truthfully, I didn't. Instead I sulked and overindulged). Eventually, it occurred to me that waiting. Thursday, April 15, 2010. Well, first off -. It ha...

Friday, April 16, 2010. That went fast but slow. Hard but well, hard. I'm sad to say I didn't do this 100%. But I'm totally happy with my progress. I moved a household of four people and one dog during this process. As well, I have gone from having a 6 week old baby to a 4 month old baby. I've lost 26 pounds. Most importantly, I've learned how to eat again. Can't eat chips any more. I used to love them. Now they're disgusting. I'd rather have fruit. Friday, April 2, 2010. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Some thoughts after PCP. So, a couple of days after PCP, I tried to re adjust myself into a "normal" life, only realizing that it is not the same as it used to be. For example, my fingers got all puffy in the morning from the salt that I ate the previous day. It was not that salty because I cooked by myself using a moderate amount of ingredients. Behold the power of salt. At National Geographic, which I did a while ago. No wonder they are all large. Weight: 60.2kg - 53.8kg. In 3 ...
